A profoundly decent and honorable man, the likes of which we may never see again. May he forever be remembered for this decency he showed towards every human.

I found out a couple of years ago, and many people are not aware of this, that Mr Carter risked his life in the early 1950s when he helped preventing a meltdown in a nuclear reactor in Canada. RIP

Pres. Carter reminds me of the best in humanity. He lived a true Christian life - working to help those less well off, and patiently working to bring peace to the world. Humble, thoughtful, and full of concern for his fellow citizens, he strived to make a better America. We should all be thankful for all that he gave throughout his life. RIP

As usual Ian does a succinct and accurate assessment. Carter was a good and honest man who became president and a thought time and had some bad luck which was outside of his control. But a good man none the less.

Sir Carter 💙 Thank you for your service, grace, and dignity representing US! Truly tested beyond the measures of life’s challenges with great endurance, remaining a good and faithful servant to all peoples. Tough timing. Dropped into an American landscape coming out of the Vietnam disaster, and Tricky Dick Nixon being chased out of office two years earlier. OPEC oil embargo had jacked up inflation, along with the costs of a decade in Vietnam. He dealt with all those crises before even having to face the Iran meltdown. It's amazing that he managed to deal with that set of issues, and still somehow mediate the Camp David deal. But he was always considered a bit of an outsider to the Washington insiders and power brokers. A bit too honest for his own good. And Reagan came along with his easy answers to complex problems. We're still suffering from his BS today. Just like Britain got conned by Thatcher before she got kicked to the curb. Actually, Pres. Carter's life and works after leaving office demonstrates that he was the type of person who we should be looking for as a leader, but don't often choose. And the problems don't seem to end. Just our ability and patience to solve them. And deporting random people won't magically solve anything either. Just another bait and switch by Elon, Vivek and Big Don. We need some of Jimmy Carter's humanity and common sense right now. RIP to that farmer from Georgia....

Carter, Reagan and Nixon were so likable by today's standards. I don't remember much about Ford other than the Chevy Chase impressions but I was born in 1976. 🍌

His in action in Iran directly led to all the problems in the Middle East. We cannot forgive this very dark part of his legacy. His betrayal of the Shah was disgraceful
