Death of a damn legend, I cant even imagine the amount of sadness you must hold in your heart for ol' stobe the hobo. He died doin what he loved, I enjoyed watching his content from the very beginning to an abrupt end. He was taken too soon and had a lot of life left. But death happens, either way you look at it, it's inevitable. It hits like a brick to the face. I want you to do something for me, hold onto those special moments, keep those memories, and remember the experiences forever. A legend lost, but a legend never forgotten. RIP Jim Stobe, an absolute hero.

Peace be with you as you heal! also, before you spoke, I expected a British accent, have you heard that before. Can you say Poe tot toe? ; ) Thanks for the video. Many, like me, are healing too. Wish I met him in person. I actually used to hate on him as my fathers son watched his videos. I was jelouse of that lifestyle and I hated how the rails took my sons dad from me so often. But then I was taken away from freedom and I came out trying to understand better and literally the day I saw a Hobo Stobe video with open eyes, a new perspective, an appreciation instead of annoyance, he was gone that day. No more videos. Also, my sons father is taken from our lives. He only made one video and I showed it to my son for the first time recently.

Does anyone else see the resemblance between Jim's life on a virtually nonexistent budget and Anthony Bourdain's career? Stobe, fueled by beer and chicken, gave us all entertaining insight into where real life in our declining country is headed just as Anthony did - tho often under a backdrop of highbrow cuisine.

Thanks for opening up and sharing your private thoughts on Stobe. Stobe the Hobo videos have helped me through all of the CRAZY the last few years. I know his commentary would have been great about all of it. :-) Hopefully knowing that Jim Stobe touched and continues to touch a lot of people out there helps a little. I know for me he inspired a modern "on the road" take on todays America. However disappointing and awe inspiring he may have found it. This may sound silly. However, I really think a screen play is in order for such an interesting being. I think his perspective could really resonate with a lot of people today. Thanks again for sharing this. STOBE ATTACK!

Spike, I'm so sorry for your loss, you had the good fortune to know him better than most of us fans. His wanderlust, vocabulary and musical ability were infectious and inspiring. I just saw my first Stobe video on Christmas eve, linked from RanOutOnARail. I watched 3 videos in succession and was inspired so that I scrolled down to comment and found of his passing. Totally sucks. My condolences.
