Remembering Operation Tomodachi

Today we remember those impacted by the massive 9.0 earthquake and subsequent tsunami that devastated the eastern coastal region of Japan on March 11, 2011. The response effort that followed the disaster, known as Operation Tomodachi, serves as a reminder of the unwavering friendship between the U.S. and Japan.

あの時、盛岡に住んでいた私は、停電で何が起きていたのか解らず沿岸部の友を想い泣くことしか出来なかった。電気がついて喜んだのもつかの間、テレビからは悲惨な沿岸部の姿が……… 誰も言葉を無くし、悲しみと恐怖。この世の終わりだと思った。 アメリカ軍の皆様、 仙台空港での活躍は一筋の光が差し込んだ想いでした。ほんとうにありがとうございました。 アメリカの皆様、私達はここまで復興できたのはあの時の力強い皆様の行動があったからです。ほんとうにありがとうございました！

I remember seeing this on the news. I was in 10th grade, I had the same feeling I had on 9/11. Instead of a horrific tragedy perpetrated by other humans, this was a tragedy brought on by our own beloved Earth.

私も予備自衛官でしたから、地本から 召集有れば?出れますか?だったから 会社の許可有れば召集に応じます なんたって会社勤めですから、 アメリカならば❗許可されるでしょうが、日本じゃまだまだ予備自衛官は 冷遇されてますから😅今年の予備自衛官召集訓練に参加するのにも、会社から有給休暇取って、自衛隊からも手当て貰うのか❗の冷遇されてますから😢
