The Ghoul!! I remember watching him on Channel 50 back when I was a kid growing up in Detroit. What great memories. A simpler time with such terrific local entertainment. There isn't anything like the Ghoul anymore. RIP Ron...you will have a special place in my heart.

I used to watch The Ghoul as a kid on WKBD Channel 50 in Detroit. Mr. Sweed was hilarious and we couldn't wait for the show to come on to see what he had "cooked up" for the night! RIP Mr. Sweed.

Sad. Used to watch him as a young girl in the early 70's on Sat. nights with my aunt. She is only 2 yrs older than me, so we both enjoyed the same things. And creepy, scary movies were so much fun to watch with the Ghoul. And of course, we all had to wear sunglasses like him, too, lol. Love the Ghoul! R.I.P.

i remember back when I tried to "tune" him on tv62. literally you had to tune or adjust the tuner to dial in his show. I made the best of it just to watch his show. those crazy movie breaks... rip Ghoul

Growing up in Cleveland i got a big kick out of watching the ghoul blow up things with firecrackers. That was in the late 60's or early 70's.

Ron's ghoul was the real deal. we loved all his stuff but my little sister would sometimes cry when ever froggy got the bad end of the deal. that ghouldini character was the most fun to watch week after week. Goodbye Ron S-(weed) I knew you were high on something?

I remember here in Detroit watching him at night. Laughing and having a good time. I will miss him greatly. My friend To Paul has tons of tapes he shot of him from both Ghoulardi fest. I used to have an original bottle of turn blue Ghoul brew. Then got the one's in the clear bottles. I had both Froggy Sqezzins and Ghoul brew. All signed by him. Also had a pink flamingo signed by him as well. Check out Paul Muczynski on Facebook and a lot of his photos of the Ghoul.

Another Detroit area fan, I was one of the 15/16 year olds that watched it and my friends did too, never missed it. I keep searching here for any parts of the movies I faintly remember but don't find any of them even in part. Maybe if somebody with the original tapes could put them into a box set they'd rake in some dough.

I loved all the sound effects he used, on the show. My favorite was, "Hey, hey...THOOOY!!!" I would give much to get the sound effect for myself.

oh. watched this as a kid. Channle 56 UHF out of Boston, MA Cambridge. Usually staying over at a childhood friend's house Joe Dargy. The brain that wouldn't die, and others. I also remember one musical they did, goofing on the then Nixon, watergate stuff. It rhymed really well and I remember one part in pieces,... With Halderman, erlichman, Mitchell and Dean!

I met him and his stunning wife when Ch 61 was part of the MDA telethon. He was an accomplished ventriloquist with his "buddy" Clem O'Hare. He was easy to talk with until he put on his Ghoul garb, and then he became an arrogant prick.
