Thank you for the review. I bought my 2000 from a friend who needed some cash. I no longer hunt and it's unlikely that I ever will, but I did shoot a few shells to be sure it functioned. There are two metal tabs that are glued(?) on the inside/rear of the forearm that engage with notches in the receiver to help keep the forearm aligned (a Mickey Mouse arrangement). The metal tabs on mine came loose and I epoxied them. You don't want to loose them. The first time I handled the gun I caught my finger in the shell lifter in the loading port while trying to release the bolt. On the bottom side, forward of the trigger guard there is a small lever... push that backward if you want to close the bolt on an empty chamber.

I inherited my granddad's B2000 about 30yrs ago. He paid $1800 for it new in '74 with 32" and 28" barrel. He had $1200 worth of work to chrome line/sleeve the 32" and custom tuned it 3" 00 buckshot. (Don't ask how but he had all documents). Thing is fussy as hell when unloading it, would hang up every other go round.

You can pick these up cheap, the A500 was a flop as well you can pick them for a song.
