These men are so BRAVE to be able to talk about their experiences during there time serving there country in Vietnam and unfortunately war is a necessary evil that we as a human race might not be able to overcome and this problem will probably take some time to resolve itself and we can all THEN resolve our problems by TALKING about what ever the problem is. Good bless all those who have served and are serving there country’s today.

I'm raising the BS Flag on this guy, there is no such thing as "BDU's - That is US ARMY speak. We call em Utilities in the Marine Corps
@bluesman09033 ай бұрын
Don't know when you were in the Corps, but I was in from 75-81, 3rd LAAM Bn. Cherry Point NC. But I have heard them referred to as "BDU's", but your right, more commonly known as utilities.
@tedd10913 ай бұрын
@@bluesman0903 I got out of the Marine Corps in 1973. I NEVER heard anybody refer to Utilities as BDU's. I've heard the Jungle Utilities referred to as "Camies" but never BDUs. It's like calling a Marine DI as Drill Sargents
@bluesman09033 ай бұрын
Maybe your right, I always referred to them as utilities as well, or camies

Here's my story. I avoided the war at all cost. I knew it was BS as a teenager and that I wasn't going to waste my life for something that did not matter to Americans...and really a lot of Vietnamese. I am proud that I stood up for myself and was willing to deal with the consequences that could result from one avoiding the draft in the US. Patriotism has more than one face. Life IS important but tell that to the US Government. The reality for these guys is that they did NOT fight for my freedom, save me from anyone or anything and preserve my lifestyle. That's all delusional propaganda and BS. A country the size of North Dakota, almost 8000 miles across the Pacific Ocean on the Asian mainland meant nothing to the US...whether we won or lost. These guys should just be glad they survived and take their "stories" quietly with them. They did not have a right or legitimate reason to be there...so what story needs to be shared...really?

Of course Vietnam wasn't about fighting communism. It was about rubber.
@topgeardel6 ай бұрын
@@abehall1619 Rubber? Really? Rubber was an issue during WW2 b/c the Japanese occupied rubber supply in Indochina. The US came up with synthetic rubber then. I would prefer to say the US military/industrial complex benefitted from Vietnam financially. Everyone was a loser in Vietnam....even the winners...the Vietnamese people.
