While I was in Guatemala earlier this year, I met an awesome guy named Tor. He has a passion for creating Djembe's from scratch. He hosts a drum circle in a small village on Lake Atitlan every single week.
The turnout and energy of the drum circle is incredible.
While I was down there, he took me under his wing and guided me through the entire process of creating a Djembe! The only cost was the price of the materials. Which, for how good this Djembe turned out, was an amazing deal.
This process was long, challenging & extremely rewarding. I play my Djembe every single day and the connection I have with this instrument, especially knowing the entire process behind it and the connection I felt through the entire process.. well.. it's an incomparable feeling to say the least.
Huge thanks to Tor for taking the time and having the patience to guide us through this process. I learned many valuable lessons from him. Here is one that has still stuck with me.
It's easy to find words which define our reality. I'm quick to tell myself what I can or can't do. It's liberating to take a step back from these words and let our actions define our own reality. Instead of saying "I have always been this way" I now choose to say "Up until now..." Thanks again, Tor

Las herramientas que está usando, son para concreto y no madera, esto hace que se vea más pesado y difícil.
