One of the first mods I played was LURK 1.05 (1.1 is weird). It's a lot closer to vanilla Anomaly in gunplay. I don't even remember what gunpack it used. It's a genuine 2009 mod and has not been updated since, but I remember it holding up well. Played it a few times between then and probably 2018.

ShoC's sawed-off TOZ-66 is the most realistic depiction of a "rabbit-ear" (double-hammer) type of side-by-side shotgun I've ever seen! I always irritated me how they ruined it in Clear Sky, then left it ruined in CoP. Btw, wanna try yer hand at some Zone Sportsmanship Challenges? 1:21 [cue 'Spear of Justice' theme] The first mission is especially do0mficult on Master do0mficulty. 2:16 Turtles move fast underwater. 4:17 It always irritated me how you aim over the LR-300's rear sight instead of through it. I'll never understand that trope, but it seemed to plague FPS games from this era. Never mind the endlessly flapping dust cover. Anyway, for a fun time, try nailing snorks in the head with a pistol for sport. Or try blasting them out of the air with a shotgun for sport. Or if it's a super long-jumping "man-eating" snork ("super snork" as I call them), try blasting it out of the air with a 40-mil for sport. It's overkill to the max, but it's fun. It starts out as a sport (and as a way to train your intuition and reaction time), then it becomes an addiction. 5:55 That feels un-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-like, though. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is supposed to be sophisticated, not vulgarian. Shooting from the hip is for Hollywood idiots who don't know what stocks and sights are for.

Call me a panzy, but my enjoyment of this series skyrocketed when I switched to rookie mode. Its still brutal in combat, but it allows you to barley survive gunfights first try without having to quick-load. Which for me, I don't like fps games if the only way to succeed is to quick save and quick load every encounter with all the AI enemies individually.

I never played the others, I've only played 2 and I'm amazed at how many returning characters there are. In no way would I think Sidorovich was a character from the other games or that you'd see Scar or anything, I guess I sorta AM Skif, I don't know these people, I've only ever been "on the mainland" so they're all new to me. STALKER 2 works as a standalone and as something for veterans to go " Oh look at that! It's Sidorovich! HEY THAT'S SCAR! " I also notice the other Stalker games have the same weapons and mechanics are largely untouched, which to some is bad, they always want new everything... whereas people like me who play the Insomniac Spider-Man games and it's literally the same reused city that they even have entire buildings that have the same layout including even trash and other litter in the exact same places. We can get "more of the same" but with a new story and love it.

Hey, nice video! What difficulty did you chose when playing? You are supposed to play on Master, so that bullets would do more damage across the board. Pistols still fell like trash, but the rest of the guns are much better.

Thanks! I was playing on Veteran. Maybe I should have tried cranking it up to master 😅. I just finished Clear Sky today and experienced a similar deal, so I'll try CoP with master.

@@RemisVancosid Master is where you should play *all* STALKER mods as well, because not all of them actually modify everything correctly on other difficulties than Master.

Not a game but work of art! IT's one of those very very rare bestsellers which give that feeling . Stalker is def worth to play. !! whiloe some games like crysis of it's time where simple fps shooters stalker was everything. and rpg a shooter a storyline...

Bought the legends of zones on the PS4 since it's on sale. The shooting Mechanics is basically fallout New Vegas without the V.A.T.S and having to use the corners and trees as shield. That simplistic gameplay is addicting. It feels weird not really leveling up or anything like that. Other than that the AI isn't all that difficult and the aiming if you remove auto aim it's pretty good

So what should a wannabe Stalker fan start with GAMMA or the originals? i own all 3 originals that was part of my backlog i never got around to playing. I do like the look of the Tarkov style healing in Gamma. I want to at least play and experience the story before STALKER 2 release. GAMMA seems more modernized but the originals... i mean its the original experience that Gamma may not provide. Im on the fence so what do yall suggest?

I'd say if you want the story go with the originals. Coming from Gamma I got a smidge of an idea about everything going on, but it didn't sink in as much until playing the originals. Also, going into the originals without the context/QoL improvements in Gamma would be a really cool way to work up to Stalker 2. Either way, no matter what you choose, I hope you have a fun time!

Why did you turn off dynamic lighting? Static lighting messes up a lot of the texture blending as well. Like the edges of the roads etc.

Your friend is full of shit. You deal 20% more damage on Novice and are much more accurate aiming down sights. "There are two components to aiming: the accuracy of the gun and the inaccuracy of the Marked One's stance. Accuracy of the gun depends on the default for the weapon, adjusted for the different ammo types and for the gun's condition. Essentially, the shots will strike inside the inner ends of the crosshairs. The Marked One's accuracy component is added to the gun's accuracy. No matter what anyone tells you, iron sights are best (Marked One's "inaccuracy" contribution is 20 times less than standing in vanilla), although recoil makes a difference on subsequent shots. SoC has the best story, while CoP has the best gameplay but feels like a sandbox without any plot. CS is kinda meh. Just install "Absolute" visual mods and games are perfectly playable even today, with many aspects being better than in stalker 2 (economy, balance, bugs etc.)

The shootings so stupid and the games difficulty just goes from very mild to extreme difficulty in the span of literally one mission. Its damn near unplayable at the end 😂. Enemies spawn behind you when you load to instantly kill you. Enemies remember where you are once you die from them. They can shoot through walls and one hit you but you'll never one hit them. Bullets have five to 7 different landing spots no matter how well you aim or how slow you take your shots it doesn't matter they are ore programmed to go where they are already going. You can't hot key stuff like you can on PC so trying to heal with food items is impossible. For the last mission done bring anything but health or anti rads. For a game based around radiation you think there would be a suit to help with that. No merchants or traders. No way of selling stuff or using money so don't know what the point of making money even is for the game 😂😂
