Yikes... it desperately needs Madonna's brighter vocal tones. Britney sounds like she has a cold here, and it's not flattering. Without Madonna, the track sounds unbalanced. Sorry, but Madge's contribution really brought this track together musically and is a major reason why the song was as successful as it was. 💁🏻‍♂️

Successful? The song flopped reaching only 34 on the Billboard charts while Toxic reached number 9 and Everytime peaked at number 15. Madonna sounded like a broken baby doll on the song.
