I made a mistake here: this is a rare case where Nightweaver's Grudge is actually superior to Abrasive Whetstone. Read on if you care about the math and reasoning behind this or want to understand why Abrasive Whetstone is so much stronger on most builds, plus an in-depth discussion of Detonation Trigger and why I say it's bait on this build. === Nightweaver's Grudge vs. Abrasive Whetstone === Long story short, Nightweaver's Grudge + Atonement Fold wins out in terms of DPS by about 5-6% over Abrasive Whetstone + Timekeeper's Jewel and is even easier to use, so that's what I'd suggest if you don't need bleed to cut some type of healing (which should not be necessary). Abrasive Whetstone still provides way more bang for your buck in one slot, but on this build we need Feedback on the long gun, so applying bleed isn't as easy as just firing a few rounds to activate Twisting Wounds. Therefore, we need to slot Timekeeper's Jewel to use Abrasive Whetstone comfortably, and the combination of Nightweaver's Grudge AND Atonement Fold together provides slightly more DPS than Abrasive Whetstone alone. The fire rate from Haste also gets full value on Anguish since it never needs to reload (on normal weapons the DPS increase from fire rate is lower than the actual value because of reloads), and the Nightweaver's + Atonement Fold combo makes the setup even easier to use too since you don't need to worry about applying bleed. As a bonus, not needing to invest in status duration frees up 10 more trait points from Affliction to spend wherever you want. While this is a rare situation where Nightweaver's Grudge is actually the mathematically superior choice on top of having the advantage in ease of use, it also demonstrates how much stronger Abrasive Whetstone is on most builds. It takes Nightweaver's Grudge AND Atonement Fold together to provide more damage than Abrasive Whetstone, and they still barely come out on top. On most builds where you can comfortably keep bleed up without Timekeeper's Jewel, using Abrasive Whetstone gives you a whole extra ring slot to use things like Devoured Loop for skill resets, Provisioner's Ring for QoL, or even just sticking Atonement Fold in anyway for much higher damage than Nightweaver's Grudge. You can also always just toss a pipe bomb and activate Abrasive Whetstone that way, but this is supposed to be the EZ Mode build, and I imagine most people prefer builds that function without needing consumables. === DPS Math === DPS relative to base = (1 + Mod Dmg + Explosive Dmg) * (1 + Fire Rate Increases) * ((Crit Chance * (1 + Crit Damage) + (1 - Crit Chance)) Abrasive + Timekeeper's = (1 + 0.5 + 0.7 + 0.1) * (1 + 0.2) * ( 0.55 * (1 + 1.45) + (1 - 0.55)) = 4.96x base DPS Nightweaver's + Atonement Fold = (1 + 0.5 + 0.7 + 0.1) * (1 + 0.2 + 0.07) * (0.7 * (1 + 1.15) + (1 - 0.7)) = 5.27x base DPS The difference is a 6.27% DPS win for Nightweaver's + Atonement Fold, but it also being even easier to use makes it the better choice for sure in this specific build. If the Ranged Fire Rate relic fragment does work on Loathe the Weak, the difference is a slightly lower 5.82% DPS win for Nightweaver's + Atonement Fold because the relative difference in fire rate gains from Haste is slightly lower. === Detonation Trigger is Bait (but still more than good enough if you like it) === If you're curious about Detonation Trigger, you can get close to a full crit setup if you use Singed Ring over Atonement Fold, but it still loses. Ahanae Crystal in that slot can push it ahead of Nightweaver's + Atonement Fold if you throw in Krell Axe + Tainted Blade, but if you're willing to do the tiny bit of extra work to get those statuses from your melee, you should still just use Nightweaver's with Ahanae over Detonation Trigger anyway. If you're throwing in the melee for those statuses, you can also use Butcher's Fetish, which is almost as strong as Abrasive Whetstone and much stronger than Detonation Trigger or Nightweaver's. The argument for Detonation Trigger will get much worse when Ahanae and Singed Ring are no longer multiplicative too, which Tragic mentioned will be happening, and when you consider that some bosses are also immune to burn, there is just no practical reason to use it. Finally, it's debatable whether it's worth doing anything extra for slightly more damage when you can already kill things this fast just by standing there and shooting, and it's important to note that interrupting your rotation to do things like throw a Krell Axe is a DPS loss as well, so in reality the ease of use of Nightweaver's + Atonement Fold will often come out on top anyway. If you really like Detonation Trigger, I'd go with the Singed Ring setup since it deals almost as much damage on the live patch while requiring no extra work at all. In all honesty the damage here is already so stupidly high that you can use whatever amulet you want and still destroy everything, so if Detonation Trigger's fun factor makes things more enjoyable for you, go for it. It's just never the strongest option and will only get worse once Ahanae and Singed Ring are nerfed.

Perfect timing. I’m trying to clear Annihilator(Apoc) right now but I’ve been struggling. Great build!🤘🤘

I actually messed up here and the best trinkets for this build make it even easier to use. If you haven't killed him yet, see the pinned comment for an even easier time.

Hey, I'm new to this game, the ritualist looks fun to play and this build too, which one do you recommend for fun and being OP asf

Not the video author, but I just did an apoc clear with Ritualist + Summoner. I ran sparkfire with twisted wounds and fargazer mod, krell axe with tainted blade, smg or rupture cannon various mods and fetid wounds. Max traits for ability cooldown, stamina, mod regen, health, strong back, amplitude for AOE, barkskin, movement speed while aiming, etc. Jewelry: Energized neck coil, which makes enemies explode when you first directly apply a status effect. This includes effects applied by the weapon mutators. Singed ring, timekeeper's jewel, burden of the destroyer, and shadow of misery. The one weakness of the build is that weapon damage is kinda bad, which against mobs is made up for by the explosions, but annihilation I had trouble destroying he orbs, as they were immune to miasma and my weapon damage was often just not enough to destroy them, and if my dodge timing was off at all, the orbs insta-killed me. Others this build mostly trivialized apoc. Even bosses like Venom went down in about 40 seconds.

If you're new, I'd really suggest you don't look at build videos and just enjoy the game, at least for your first playthrough. You won't have most of the items being shown, and you should experiment with stuff that seems cool instead of focusing on making a specific build you saw on KZbin. I'd make "new player" builds, but because the items you get are random, it's kinda hard to do that. As for Ritualist, it's very strong and fun, so if it looks interesting to you then go for it.

Hey man, great set up and i appreciate the pinned comment going into detail on nightweaver too. Just kinda confused on whats causing your explosions to just seemingly infinitely ramp up in damage? Most noticeable during second phase
@Dainurian5 ай бұрын
Anguish's mod has a hidden passive effect where it ramps up in damage the lower health the target has, up to double damage at 5% HP remaining.

The point is build crafting and testing builds out. It's literally the point of replaying a souls like once you've beaten the game and its a formula remnant perfected with its repetitive game play loop.
