First, a disclaimer: you're unlikely to slap this on and trivialize apoc bosses. Every shot fired was calculated in a spreadsheet, no shots are missed, every hit is a WS hit, and I reattempted the bosses dozens-for some, hundreds-of times until Critcaprio blessed me with 100% crits. Speed kill vids are rarely representative of typical gameplay, and this one isn't an exception. However, if you land the majority of your shots and have reasonable luck with crits, then you can at least take a big chunk out of many bosses fast, providing an overall shorter fight and sometimes allowing phase skips.
Kill times and brief strats below. As of the time of posting, these are all records for the moment. As always, we measure from first damage from any source to last damage. No glitches used of course.
RED PRINCE
4.18s
I throw brightstone before speaking with him so the fight will start with him in the mist. Common strat. I use wormhole to i-frame his first fire attack. I wormhole back in front of him, then I use the third hole to avoid the second fire attack as he recalls the projectiles. As long as the first hole is performed at the right moment, the timing works out naturally to avoid these attacks.
There's a bug that sometimes prevents accurate WS shots from damaging Prince. I recommend not using this build against him for normal gameplay, because a huge portion of the build's value is tied to just 4 shots. You can't afford for them to malfunction.
SHREWD
3.43s
This should've been performed with only 3 holes then a final shot, resulting in a faster time. Unfortunately, Invader's +15% damage buff from decoy drawing aggro is unreliable and regularly fails for reasons I couldn't determine. This changed the breakpoints and negated the faster kill strat.
The faster strat can still be done by bouncing bright in front of the wall to debuff her without damaging her. With bright, Repulsor, AWB, Prob Cord, Flawed Beauty and Zania's, I believe sub 3s is possible. I'm ready to move on, but godspeed to anyone else who wants to go for this!
FAELIN
3.93s
I run to the right because if I start in front of the fog wall, there's a 100% I'll wormhole out through it. I throw bright and PD it then wormhole away. The decoy baits him into the mist. The reason I never hit bosses with bright directly here is because the explosion damage would start the kill timer early, increasing TTK.
Faelin takes reduced damage from physical ranged attacks but not elemental it seems. Furthermore, he takes an extra 15% damage from acid, and that applies multiplicatively.
ASTROPATH
4.00s
This little bitch kept whirling and twirling around me like a mermaid. I decided I needed to anchor myself and fire from midrange. Hole doesn't like to travel to different levels, like from a platform to the ground. I step up onto the base of the transporter, which gives me enough height to prevent hole from transporting me to the ground. This way I don't have to deal with his Cirque du Soleil bullshit up in my face.
Important note about Battery mutator: the buff HUD icon will round decimals. If using a mod consumes enough mod power for 2.5 Battery stacks for example, the icon will round it to 3, but this is a bug. You'll only get 2 stacks.
CUSTODIAN'S EYE
5.83s
People always throw bright directly onto CE when its dormant. I get it. It's so tempting! But by the time you're able to shoot its WS, half the debuff time is already gone. Instead, I throw it to where CE is going to be once it re-positions. When the fight ends, there's still 9s of bright time left. This placement can be done very reliably.
First, take a few steps into the arena so that you pass the initial raised hexagons on your left and right. Equip bright and aim toward the large column on the wall shown in the video. There's a shape on the wall resembling an eye. Aim toward the bottom of the eye, and the grenade will explode in the spot where CE starts the fight. Weeeeeee.
Also, CE takes 15% extra damage from acid and shock, so these elements really fuck it up.
HUNTRESS
3.95s
This was harder than expected. Might be easier to do it while she's still awake. When she's awake, 2 WS hits with this build will cause stagger, then the next 2 shots are free. But it seems that any damage done before her health bar appears doesn't count toward her stagger threshold, so the only free shot I get is the first.
The horse takes roughly 77% reduced WS damage, so that's a no-go. Huntress herself takes full damage, but it took some work to find the right angles, because the fucking horse's tail and the spear kept blocking my shots lol. If you perform it as shown, you should at least chunk off 50-75% of her health fast, provided that Critcaprio is with you.
