I really don’t mind it when bands change their sounds and evolve over the course of their discography. Hell I think it’s a sin if a band doesn’t do it. However, with Remo Drive. It just seems like they completely uprooted their entire sound and became something completely different. Like you can call people haters all you want, but when they say this isn’t the Remo Drive people fell in love with from GHs, that’s a very legit thing to say. Once signing with Epitaph, every characteristic that the band had seemed to disappear. And while I don’t dislike or hate this new music, it just feels so. Dishonest? Also as someone who’s favorite band used to be J**k before the allegations came out, it’s so baffling that the band wouldn’t utilize Sam Bekt as a full time member. Like Remo Drive was able to fill the void that J**k left in my heart, so when I found out that Sam was drumming for them. It was like a dream come true. Going to a Remo Drive concert and seeing Sam drum was a blessing. He added so much character and energy to that show and those songs. I don’t know. Maybe the label is pushing this. Maybe the Paulson brothers moved on from emo. But it would’ve made more sense to break up Remo Drive and regroup as a new band. Oh well. I wish everyone in the band good health and good piece of mind in these hard times irregardless

Seems like Erik and Stephen just don't like the old sound, especially with Erik's reaction on twitter about the criticism of the change of sound, he fairly outwardly claimed the old sound was very immature and was sick of making music for teenagers. Obviously he may have just been angry and spoke more aggressively/upfront than he actually feels, but yeah, seems like he's done with emo/pop punk
