The NVEM CNC controller has been flashed with Remora firmware, now it's time to get things moving with LinuxCNC.

Hi Scott, very nice demo! Did you do the stress test? I think it should be used only directly connecting the computer to the board without other devices that could generate collision in the network and board miss steps. I'm looking forward to see it working in your CNC!

Nice work Scott, I just ordered one of these to play around with. Might, even want to contribute a bit to the remora project.

Thanks and I hope you enjoy. Stay tuned as Remora-Novusun (NVEM and EC500) is getting a big speed boost. At least up to the speeds of the original firmware. Contribution is always appreciated, like the hints how to approach the speed increase I received.

@@scott3d506 i haven't had a chance to look at the source in detail, where was the speed improvement?

@@scott3d506 Hi Scott, Finally got my NVEM and started diving into the firmware. Created a PR with some quick fixes, but I think I can contribute a lot more. Popper file-system, OTA firmware updates are a few of the things that I can see being valuable. I work with this stuff for a living. Is there any channel I could get in touch with you directly?

Hello Scott. Very nice project. I have the same NVEM board and use it now with Mach3 under Windows. But it gives me some trouble. The reason is Windows. So I want to use the board under LinuxCNC. I watched all your videos but I can't find the config files, like nvem-full-config.txt, in your Github repository. Can you make them available? Thanks

Hi, the LinuxCNC config files, INI and HAL. Are these what you are referring to? I'm working on the next video which will go through some more detailed and advanced HAL configurations.

Hello Scott, I'm having some difficulty I'm a little nub and I would like if you can help me. I managed to upload your firmware to Nvem board, now I want to create a machine on LinuxCNC. I usually use Mesa board, I've also done it with parallel port, but now I'm kind of lost, do I use stepconf or pncconf? How to use network connection where I inform, where I configure the I/O ports? Sorry for the maybe pointless questions…. Ingo

Hi, no problem. The easiest place to start would be to copy the example config available on Github github.com/scottalford75/Remora/tree/feature/ethernet/LinuxCNC/ConfigSamples/remora-nvem
