People. *Stop comparing Updike to the cloud guy from gumball.* While we’re at it, stop comparing artist’s OC’s to existing characters period! It really sucks when people compare your Original Character to “X” character from “Y” popular media. Saying that someone’s OC _is_ another, more popular character is quite frankly a slap to the artist’s face because, whether you realize it or not, you’ve just implied that they are unoriginal AND a thief. Sock.clip already had to suffer through this crap with Whitty, YingYang48 had to make a Twitter post to remind people that the Hex Mod didn’t invent the concept of a tv/monitor-headed robot. There is a screen when you start up Mid-Fight Masses _just_ to clarify that they aren’t Countryhumans (when Ruv and Sarv’s faces do not look like the flag of any nation.) And one last thing. Physical appearance alone doesn’t make a character. The white and fluffy face is the ONLY thing Updike and Mr Smalls have in common. Their personalities, occupations, body shapes, even their fashion senses are completely different.

If I want to change people’s minds, then I must support my statement without insulting others. Time is meaningless in online comments, so I can fume in anger as much as I like behind the screen first, then write my comment _after_ I have calmed down. This also gives me time to think about what my message is and how to explain my thoughts. If I realize my argument is indefensible, I don’t post the comment. The internet has more than enough heated arguments, I don’t want to add even more to the pile. :)
