Catching while lowering brought a huge smile to my face. One of my most exciting and by far the best memories I have is ice fishing with my wife and youngest daughter at about 55 ft. As my wife was slowly lowering her minnow on a old school one-to-one reel, she excitedly said I have a fish on and she was only at about 40 ft still. With all the slacks she had I grabbed the line thinking she was messing with me to have her reel up the slack. Lo and behold she did have a fish on and as she reeled up, the line wrapped around the tip and snapped. I let go of the line thinking she was done and watch the line "in slow motion" fall into the hole. I went elbow deep into the hole catching the end of the line and started pulling it up by hand. Knowing we were fishing for perch I thought it might be a walleye. But as it got closer, the body shape didn't resemble that. As I pulled the fish out of the hole, what seemed like an eternity as I held the head there trying to figure out what we just caught, I looked at my wife and looked back at the fish saying what did you just catch. All three of us were so excited that she just caught her biggest fish which ended up being a 22 inch brown trout. And to think, she was the one afraid to go on the ice ... LMBO.

Jay that was so cool to get to see you fly into a lake so that you could fish!!! I definitely have also been wanting to sleep out of a ice shack over night and do a hard water cook out!! I just think that would be so freaking awesome!!! Maybe I will get my wish to come true this year hopefully!!! I do have an ice shack that’s on the sled but I do not have a ice hut witch I believe would work out much better!! My goal is to hopefully save enough money to get one before the end of the season so that I can at least get to try it once this season!!! I had the money once but then had some one mess up my vehicle so I had to end up fixing it and using that money towards that!! Any ways ever since I started ice fishing 4 or 5 years ago I have always wanted to do that for sure!!! Maybe Eskimo would be so kind to send me one so I could full fill my dream!! Lol!! I can say that I do have and run everything Eskimo equipment and absolutely love it!! I don’t need a real big one! just one big enough for me my cot and my pup that goes every where I go!! She absolutely love to go ice fishing with me also!! Lol!! Awesome video buddy!! You could maybe get Eskimo to send me an ice hut!! Lol!! Keep up all the hard work buddy!!!
