Lived in Vegas in the 90s and this is what I did every chance that I could. There are some cool things to see in the desert. I traveled almost every trial within a 100 miles of Vegas. Really miss those days now. Thanks for taking me along for the ride. Brings back great memories 👍😎👍

I’m loving these videos I’m a rock hound and the different types of rocks you come across your travels. Early in the video I find the landscape interesting on time stamp 17:06 where it’s all sandy hardly any rocks and then a mountain of rocks. I just think that’s interesting contrast from sand to rocks..

I think I got the time stamp wrong but theirs a point where their was what looked like lava rocks and then sand like a line in the desert I just found it interesting

Cool ride along. A man and his faithful companion for long journeys. Nice scenery out there. I have 1 question though. Does everything left in the desert get set on fire by vandals? Or are these vehicles just stolen and then burned. Just seems a little odd to me that everything out there is extra crispy and not from the sun.
@RemoteTrooper2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, anything that can burn gets burnt... Not sure why.
@earth20062 жыл бұрын
As a long haul truck driver I've been almost all over Nevada, a lot of ghost towns, some places I had to get to you'd past signs, "5 miles to the middle of nowhere" "Beyond here there be monsters" one that really caught my attention "Give up all hope all ye who enter" one road, can't remember its name is actually sign posted (unlike the others) "Loneliest Road In America" all there was out there was a whole lot of nothing.

I see the loader is only a 4 cylinder so it probably had a Detroit 4-71 or 4-53 in it. i couldn't tell what make it is. As for the scorched Ford water truck with a tank that looks like it's in tact, it looks like it has a Caterpillar 3208 V8 engine.

Love the "remote" ness. How many snakes per trip and how close do you get to them before you notice them? I used to live in a "commune" in the San Jacinto foothills east of LA for a few years, and loved the remoteness. We'd see a couple rattlers a week on average. How have the snakes been over your years of remote travel there? Walking up on them not noticing them is the problem. Our dog(s) sometimes got bit, but survived.

Thank God that thing is a stick. An automatic out there probably needs a massive cooler. Do you even run a thermostat out there?
@RemoteTrooper2 жыл бұрын
Yeah automatic transmissions don't last in this desert. It does have a factory spec thermostat but I put a thick aluminum radiator with 2 electric fans in it. It's actually pretty efficient now.
