What a stunning little village. Definitely heaven on earth. The exterior walls in this little house have a lot of character inside and out. You could take all the interior walls down saving the materials and repurpose them for new interior doors and trim for a new interior layout. Add a nice bath up on the main floor. Attic could be a nice primary suite perhaps. A lot of potential given a healthy wallet. But a short walk to the river beach. Priceless. The area is so rejuvenating. I love the village. So beautiful. Thanks for showing this property. It’s a precious little gem.

Could be an amazing project for someone. My concern would be the church ringing its bells on the hour, every hour. It's amazing what you can get for your money in Portugal compared to back here in the UK.

Most churches don’t ring the church bells at night. For example we can hear the bells from 2-3 churches from our house and the last bell tolls at 10pm and doesn’t start again until 7am. This isn’t a rule set in stone, just the general practice. I actually love the sound of church bells and I like that they tell the time throughout the day. It’s been years since I’ve worn a watch and it’s nice to know the time. 😂

Quite a bigger property than it looks from the outside, and to me it the sort of property that someone who already lives in Portugal could buy to renovate and rent out as a holiday home. It’s a good price and with a bit of imagination could quite cheaply be done up to a good standard. Put a little fence around the flat roof and a doorway out to it and you have a little sitting area outside. For those who wish for a garden area to grow I’m sure you can rent or purchase a small plot to grow your own produce if you wish renovate the property for your own use all year round.

We have a town near us called St Ives and there is no room for gardens, just houses ontop of houses and it's heaven on earth to holiday there, this is a similar place. Get up, walk down the road and jump in the water ❤️

Yes - perfect for an AirBnb but I've been watching a channel called "Make.Do.Grow" which is a couple renovating an old stone house somewhere in central Portugal. It's a massive undertaking to bring it into the 21st century

@@911dips5 yeah it is always a fool to be taken to the cleaners...and for those of us who understand about flipping houses this house is a money pit with no $$ profit return...starting with the huuuuge crack on the wall (noticed that I hope)...that my dear boy is a sign of huge issues and high repairs cost...Repairing a foundation is never cheap and TO make that house nice it will required no less than 30K (conservative estimate) or more (roof needs repair or replace )...at the end the buyer will have a very small house, no parking, neighbors on top of your business and an investment of 55K to 70K or more including lawyer, taxes, and other fees... so yeah it is an amazing deal 😅

The location of this house is nice. The location of the village is outstanding. Their river beach and surrounding environs are gorgeous. The footprint of this house is quite adequate for a small fam (1 or 2 + pets). Great idea of digging out the ground floor to allow for more height as the area is a great space to escape the heat and keep data center (🤷🏻‍♀️) and freezer cool. Lots of work for the next owners but can be a very comfortable and cozy soace to enjoy for a long time. Lovely music paired with your drone views, Nick.

many of them are fairly empty, some more than others of course... it's kinda sad... but no jobs, no educations etc. so people move to the larger cities or out of the country... so seems to be mostly old people living there and off gridders and what not

@@LiLBitsDK Are you Portuguese? I do remember maybe 20 yrs ago that the country was losing it's young people due to poor jobs and economics. Now it seems Brits are migrating there - the off grid KZbinrs I watch (I'm american) seem like lovely young families but...they're not Portuguese - that is sad.

@@curiouscat3384 no I am not Portuguese, but I think it is important to protect their culture and lifestyle. I admire their work ethics and lifestyle. I dream of moving there and might be "sort of" close this year but I don't want to bring my "normal lifestyle" with me, I'd like to change it to the local lifestyle. Many of the brits/americans are "expatting" there, not migrating there if you ask them ;-) I watch a fair few of the youtubers too, it's quite interesting and you can also learn from the issues they face. They are a varied bunch from all over the world it seems. The more "commercialized" channels seem to be americans though. Most of them don't seem interested in having kids either, though Farmer for Fun has a lovely daughter and if I recall right then his wonderful wife is Portuguese and they run their farm as a family as well with more than one generation. I am 44 and don't have kids and don't have anyone to get them with either... yet... so unlikely that I get kids unless I meet a lovely mulher jovem when I get settled down there ;-) Time will tell...

Looks way overpriced It will cost a fortune to renovate his property and bring up the modern European standards, especially with the requirements for energy performance certificate. It’s probably worth about €5000 tops.
