About 10 years ago, I spent a night there. Both cabins were clean and orderly, and stocked with canned food, water, and firewood..
@peteskipeteski44648 күн бұрын
That's how ALL of them should be, eh? Leave it alittle nicer and stocked (especially first-aid). I went to a very very remote,super old, fantastic built true log cabin on state land in AZ that I was so saddened to see it trashed out, especially on state land

You did a great job with the filming and editing on this one. I wish you wouldn't have given up your location. Old cabins like this need to be protected at all costs.

Precisely! I will never forget the time when I was climbing a grade in the middle of nowhere on a highway and my engine started to overheat and ping. I turned the heater on to cool it down and my friend who was the reason why we were there in the first place thought I was crazy. It was 90+ outside, no air conditioning, windows down with the heater on. That day I learned why you don't buy the cheapest 87 octane gas in town. FWIW That was the best that I could afford back then. Thankfully the engine survived. I was honestly worried for it. It sounded like a bunch of marbles in a tin can.

@ i drove from California to Colorado with my heater on full blast and 90° weather. The head gasket was partially blown. But I made it. It’s a good trick.

Many old cabins, in both California and Nevada are called "Volunteer" Cabins, because small groups of people try very hard to maintain them. They are "first come, first serve" places to camp. You have to hang the American flag to let others know you are camping there. I seen a number of them and some are quite unique and special. There is a log book inside, sign it, even if you're just visiting. I think there is a book that tells you how to get to many others like this.
@doug688514 күн бұрын
Your GPS is off. That's the CALIFORNIA desert. And since it's less than 15 miles from the freeway, it shouldn't be that hard to get a bean bag out there. Fun fact - There was a meth lab there once.

I am from Las Vegas myself, and I stay out of Commiefornia. When I go out to the open desert in my 4X4 I carry guns with me that are illegal in Commiefornia. In Nevada, Arizona, and Utah I can carry a loaded hand gun with me, and rifles that are not locked up in a case, but not in Commiefornia. I would not want to get stopped by a park ranger or BLM in Commiefornia, and have them start asking me if I had any weapons on me.

The old fridge is one powered by kerosene, it uses the absorbtion cycle. As long as you had a source of heat, they would cool the fridge innards, electric elements either 12 or in our case 240v would also make them work. Thanks for another interesting video mate.

I have a serious question. Why do you not take some things from your explorations? That fridge door would be a cool decoration for a garage or "man cave". I know bigger things would be hard to carry, but why not even something small like that coke bottle? I assume you leave them for other people to see, but I think I would be tempted to take small items. Thank you again for another great video!

Its just a hotel built in 1994 called Buffalo Bills. The roller coaster has been closed down for maybe 10 years. Its just for gambling/hotel now. The concrete river rider inside the build is not working either. I stayed there maybe 5 years ago, its a real shithole. lol Next to it are a lot of large outlet stores.
