You are making a 51 year old man shed tears right now, I grew up in Kingman Arizona and California south bay area and have been all over the tri-state desert up and down lake Mohave and mead from California up to Flagstaff and beyond still got friends and my daughter and family still in Kingman, you have no idea the memories you are bringing back for me, I don't think there is an inch of the Arizona desert I have not explored been a part of Arizona since 1974 and even was a Wildland firefighter initial attack up at lake Roosevelt, I could tell stories for days about the tri-state desert fun , I owe you a huge thank you for bringing these videos to Columbus Ohio for my viewing, I wish I could go back but I could never leave my son behind. Thanks again brother and be safe out there as you know it can be very unforgiving 🥲😂 and yes tears of happiness 🤜🤛🙏👉✌️

At the antic store, the "juicers" are actually grinders...the cool metal toy trucks and cars are not from 70's....try 50's, 40's, 30's and earlier...The knife with animal handle is not a tusk, rather it is an antler....just some quick observations..thanks for the tour and keep on Trooping!

I enjoyed your video of Oatman, Az., those Burros are great, loud cars, bikes, etc., and nothing phased them. And, when you were leaving they let you know you'd better pay them a fee in food for using their roads, lol. I wish they'd cover those vertical mine shafts, humans and animals are in danger around them. Another awesome video, thank you! 👍

German tourists must love that place.
@cavecookie1 Жыл бұрын
I lived there in the 90's, and in those days, Oatman was very popular with the Germans. A couple of friends of mine even ended up in a German fashion catalog for a couple of years. Germans would sit down at the bar and sometimes recognize them from the magazine! There was a German tour company that flew people into Vegas, where they would rent Harleys, and rip up and down Rt. 66. Oatman was ALWAYS a highlight of the tour. They'd come through about every 4-6 months, and the party was on! Those sure were some good times.
@joewenzel5142 Жыл бұрын
@@cavecookie1 Then the Death Valley Germans happened and I've always wondered if that slowed down German tourism. I visited the lowest point in the US in Death Valley in 2009 and quite a few German tourists were there so not all were scared off.

You need to study some history. The things in this video that you don't know what they are would fill volumes. BTW, the wooden insulator, isn't, it is the wooden part that is nailed to the crossbar that the glass insulator screws onto..

It's pretty cool there shoot out skit is kinda funny but for the people that have to go threw ther in order to get to work but can't because they block off the whole road and force people to watch is kinda rude remember old Tusan and there wild west shootouts ,insain,move it to the field at the north entrance that would be nice ,and spice up you act ,let's see the battle of toomstone,custards last stand,what about the young lady the town was named after,,she and the wagon train that her family was in fort attract by Wilde indians and she was taken and raised by them ,anywho no wories nothing personal,just saying that's all

People who live in Oatman know the times of the gun fights. It is not a major inconvenience. Most people that are driving on this stretch of road are coming to see Oatman or are enjoying driving Route 66. As for the gunfights, this is Oatman, AZ, not Tombstone and General Custer was not from Oatman. Mike Fox gives a brief history of Oatman before the gunfights performed by the Red Ridge group Thursday thru Saturdays.
