In this video I carefully explain the step-by-step procedure on how to remove, replace, and reinstall the front bumper and headlights on all seventh generation Nissan Maxima's. This video can also be used as a general reference.

Showing exactly how the L shaped connector between the bumper and the car is what I wanted to see. Thanks.

Thank you for showing those bumper-to-fender plastic L shaped locking brackets. I need to pull the front bumper off mine & re-align it & replace the headlight assembly's on the Maxima I just bought. Because you showed that clip, I have realized that at least 1 of mine has been broken & put together wrong by a previous shop or owner & have bought replacement parts from Nissan so I can put it back together properly. If anyone needs to replace those brackets, the part numbers at Nissan numbers are as follows. Front left: 62674P Bumper Cover Bracket (Left, Front) 62227-9N00A Front right: 62673P Bumper Cover Bracket (Right, Front) 62226-9N00A Both parts totaled under $20. A bag of 10 of those black push pin clips are about $15 from Nissan dealership parts counter.

Question, those L shaped brackets need to be screwed in place? and if so what size bolt, 10mm? Mine are both missing,brackets and bolts, and need to be replaced.
@wboyd333 жыл бұрын
@@alexdelvalle3693 The brackets slide into a holder in the frame at the far end of itself & then get screwed together. I think it's a 10mm screw, but you can look it up on Nissan parts in the diagrams they have, pull the part number, go to Nissan & have them look it up (or go to Nissan & have them look it up). Then go to a shop that sells nuts & bolts & but 2 for cheap (Nissan screws weren't that expensive though). Its been a hot moment since I did mine, so forgive me for forgetting. Also mine had a broken part ON the front clip so I had to drill a hole to bolt it back together, or it's like $400 + painting for a replacement front clip...sigh. Good luck on your Nissan!!! I hope it goes smoothly.

@@wboyd33 thanks, appreciate your response. Gonna try a junkyard first. Hate dealerships, only go to them if all else fails. Again thx.

when you took the light off, you just unhook cables and pulled it out. And when you put it back on, you put bolts or something on the light. Did you skip something when you took the lights off?

I know this is an old comment but I noticed the same thing and I can only assume that he did it off camera or something. If they were missing that would have been annoying as hell.

hey my friend I need Ed to see how you hooked up the clips underneath the front headlights
@HuggumsMcgehee2 жыл бұрын
EDIT: Nevermind. You have to twist the black part counterclockwise and then you can pull it out. I got that clip with the pliers and I got the yellow turn signal light. I don't know how to get the small light that closest to the side of the car with two wires going to it. Is the gray part supposed to come out by itself? Do I need to push in a clip or twist something? I already broke the gray clip the wires lead into. Not trying to mess it up more.

Can you make a video of how to drop the headliner on the Maxima? I have the full panoramic sunroof and it's starting to make noises.
@HughWoo2 жыл бұрын
Did you ever find anything on that? I have a 2012 starting to do the same thing. If you worked on it at all, what did you end up finding was the issue?
@mikeangelvaz2 жыл бұрын
@@HughWoo I didn't, I ended up going to the dealer to get this fixed.
@_zigzak2 жыл бұрын
@@HughWoo If the noise you guys are referring to is a creaking sound, it's because there is a structural brace between the two glass panels and overtime the bolts holding it become loose. Dropping the headliner is a pain and time consuming, but not hard. With plastic pry bars, pull of all of the plastic bits that contact the headliner. You'll also need to remove the vanity mirrors, and be careful of the side curtain airbags. (just disconnect the battery). You only have to drop the liner a few inches to get access to the bolts. I've retightened them years ago with some threadlocker and they've been fine since.

My first "10mm" bolts aren't 10. They're larger than 6 but smaller than 8, and of course, I don't have a 7mm 🤦♀️ they're a pain to get to from the top, any other suggestions?

Ty for your post but my God, thats a lot of work to replace the light bulbs. I think ill just have a mechanic do it for me. Why cant car makers make bulb replacement an easy one to do????
@josecontreras20245 жыл бұрын
Replacing a bulb is easier you dont romove the bumper but you have to do it through the wheel barrel a remove plastic cover

Did you suggest to "cut" the wiring harness? Didn't you say to "take the extra 5 minutes" to make sure you get everything right so you don't have any electrical problems? Why wouldn't you replace the lights with the old light sockets before putting the light anywhere near the car as to "not damage the lens"?
@georgehawkins8584 жыл бұрын
Great video but why not just go through the wheel well skirt by removing a few clips and reach in and get the bulb and you are done.

That has to be the dumbest fucking idea Nissan has come out with to replace a fucking headlight bulb. Maybe next time Nissan can make even more challenging and make it so you have to remove the engine, transmission, drive shaft, windshield, drain the oil, take the tires off
