You may also want to use "Hiss Noise". That's where good old "Cool Edit Pro" comes in handy. The predecessor of "Audition".

I would be glad to help you but my expertise is only limited to voice over. Are you using any third party plugins? If yes try disabling those plugins.

On the same screen as in 5:27, before you click OK to apply the noise reduction make sure you have Reduce selected and not Residue. I had a similar problem and that was the reason. I thought those options were only for preview purposes, but maybe they’re choosing which sounds to cancel and which to keep.
