You removed the rubber band, but what kind of rubber bands would I use to replace the old one on a larger doll?
@TwiceLovedTrinkets4 жыл бұрын
I like to use small clear rubber bands, I know some are cheaper quality than others, but I have been using "Goody, Ouchless" clear polyband elastics. You should be able to find them in most grocery stores, but I did see them available on Amazon, the package usually comes with three sizes and the two larger sizes are much stronger if you have a doll with more hair, also they can work great as a dolly headband for Barbie size dolls, if you need hair to stay out of their face. Hope that helps!

How would you clean the inside of a Princess of Power horse? The inside of my Crystal Moonbeam is yucky. :(
@TwiceLovedTrinkets3 жыл бұрын
It's a challenge, you have to be able to pry it apart without breaking the pegs that hold it together.
@JoshBlair833 жыл бұрын
@@TwiceLovedTrinkets have you ever done that before? Any tips? There's a small opening in the bottom of mine. Perhaps I could put vinegar or rubbing alcohol in it?
@TwiceLovedTrinkets3 жыл бұрын
I've broken most of the ones I tried to open, I have tried cleaning through cracks with pipe cleaners and q-tips when there is enough space to get inside. Either of those cleaners could work.

You did an excellent job! I wanted to ask your opinion on something, if I clean the inside of my my little ponies and after that, put rubbing alcohol inside them to make sure no bacteria can grow, will the rubbing alcohol damage the vinyl? Thank you for your opinion, and I haven’t got them yet but I have been researching ways to clean them, and I thought rubbing alcohol might be a good idea but I had never heard of anyone using that.
@TwiceLovedTrinkets4 жыл бұрын
Rubbing alcohol shouldn't hurt the vinyl, at least that has been my experience. I like to soak ponies after they are clean in a water/vinegar mix, especially if they were yucky on the inside.

Also don't use rubbing alcohol on the outside of a so soft pony, it helps loosen the flocking, which isn't great if you want to keep them flocked, Lol.

Twice Loved Trinkets Thank you! I don’t think that’ll be a problem for me, none of mine will be so softs, but thank you for that advice for future restorations.

I soaked mine in dawn dish soap for a coup of days and it came out easy breezy.
@TwiceLovedTrinkets3 жыл бұрын
Awesome, did you only use the soap or was it a water mixture?
@timfox86883 жыл бұрын
@@TwiceLovedTrinkets Just the soap. Then after 24 hrs I'd carefully use hot, hot water focused only on the area of the rubber band. If it didn't all come out on day one, I'd dump the old dish soap out and resoak the hair in new dawn dish soap. This process could take 3 days. Repeat the process each day. Use the blue dawn dish soap works best. It's gentle and leaves no scents. My final process is to use a nice high end conditioner of your choice(for regular hair)and apply to the area where the rubber band was. I also like to just stick the whole head of hair in a bowl of conditioner and let it soak for a day or two and use hot, hot water focused on the area of the rubber band and rinse the rest gently off. And Voila!

I use dawn as my soap for all the toys, lol, it does a great job of cutting grime.

@@TwiceLovedTrinkets It was a longer process for me, and that's ok because I didn't want to use any goo be gone or any harsh chemicals on synthetic hair. I used this process on Mrs. Heart. She was fresh out of the box and that nasty rubber band had melted to the hair. When I attempt to remove it the pieces broke, but were still stuck in the hair. I was determined not to compromise the integrity of the original hairstyle from the factory. So I never submerged her head in boiling water for fear of head glue seeping out onto the hair. So I was super careful when rinsing with the hot, hot water not to touch the scalp if possible, it's going to happen but keep it brief. Now I didn't want to ruin her natural curls that she came with so in this particular process I was extremely careful rinsing the hair and applying the conditioner. I did apply the conditioner to the rubber band area first. I had a bowl ready with conditioner in it already and slowly dipped the curls in the conditioner gently, whatever was left out I just squirted more conditioner on top of the curls. Whatever was unused in the bowl I worked into the scalp gently. I kind of cupped my hand closely around the curls and allowed warm water to gently run through my slightly opened fisted hand. I naturally let them dry on a towel on my top shelf. When she dried she never needed a comb and she looked brand new, just like the one I had when I was little. I have used this on other barbie's from the 80s only. This does work on She-ra dolls as well since they share that same quality hair. I try everything to not compromise the integrity of the original out of box look, but you my friend are a Master at restoring the integrity of the original hairstyle! 🙌🏼

I need a video of how to recreate Entrapta's original hairstyle in normal time, I couldn't follow at the sped-up rate. :D

Haha, I will see what I can do, I worry sometimes the videos will take too long for people to fit it into their schedule, but I will slow down some of them in the future, especially at more detailed parts. ;)

how about sticky rubber bands from doll skin like when its newly out of the box
@veevadoovee7 ай бұрын
like the rubber bands stuck to the skin for a long time

If it hasn't stained or discolored the skin, rubbing alcohol works on that too.
