Sometimes soaking the plant first loosens up the roots from the clay pot, making it easier to remove them from the clay pot. Good luck with them - hope they turn into little monsters in their new pots again 😊😉

It's nice to hear your voice again, dear. If the plant is in active growth, any root loss will be made up for quickly. I use clay pot shards on a regular basis. That's going to be a challenge to divide! Good luck with it!!!

I'm starting to use clay pots more after our discussion on pots. And I did snap some bulbs because they were so fragile. Woe.

I usually put the whole pot in a larger pot and let it do its thing, pot in pot method.

I have a few in the same condition. When I am ready to repot I take a real good look at them and say: Tomorrow will be a better day to attempt a repot.

Really healthy plant !!!! Couldn't quite see which type of orchid it was. Looked like a Dendrobium of some sort. I do the same thing with with broker clay pots. Use them at the bottom for better drainage.

It's an epidendrum hybrid. I find the epis all grow like nuts. Like stupid bamboo. Once they go crazy it's hard to control.

It's really well grown. Sturdy plant not like what I'm used to seeing for reed stem epis. It speaks to the great care that you are giving it !!!
