Thank You! I'm going to try this soon. For the first time in my 50+ year life today, I broke a spark plug. 😢 In a jet ski. I know it's not very tight, engine hasn't even run. This is definitely going to work!👍👍

I had the spiral ezout and it didn’t work. I picked up a square one from oreillys and tapped it in with a ball-peen hammer. That first lil pop was such a great thing!

I believe I found a socket that fit on it.

I used a half inch ratchet, with a 16mm socket, onto an extension, and then electrical taped the extension onto the extractor to hold it on and so it didn’t keep coming off.

My nephew called me over for help. He accidentally set the torque wrench to 240 foot pounds… I got the ceramic out, now I’m trying to get the plug out with the spiral extractor and the square extractor. The square extractor didn’t work well because there’s no room to hammered in the engine

Thank you YD, you explained this really well and it worked perfectly for me on a 2009 Volvo C70. I felt like I won the lottery on that first good turn. All the best to you!

You have a LOT of links in the description. You should also have a link to the exact tool you used. That could help some people.👍

So the bit just gets stuck in the spark plug sleeve when screwed in? Won't turning the bit counter clockwise just unscrew the bit from the spark plug sleeve?
@YD.009 ай бұрын
initially you want to give it a few taps with a hammer or similar. not too hard and turn the ez out clockwise. shouldn't come out as you're turning it counterclockwise

hi thanks for the info but could you tell us what u used for num 2? i have exhausted all types of tools/sockets i have, the extractor is in quite good but cant get the force on it as its a deep in centre of engine type (volvo). like u i managed to work out a medium ratchet extension the wrong way fits with only a small amount of play, why cdnt they just give a connection that suits a ratchet 😲
@YD.007 жыл бұрын
sorry for the late reply, i actually didn't use the tool shown for number 2. i flipped the extension and connected i socket close to one matching the ez out. there's different sockets, some have teeth and those are better for gripping the ez out

@@arthurdunn1452 sadly despite getting it out via drilling and using a magnet to get out as much metal filings as possible the mis fire remained so we had to scrap such a nice car, but this was 6 years ago so next time we know!

I'm honestly growing really desperate to try this. I really don't want to take it to a shop and get it out, but I know that's going to cost me a wad load of money. But I really don't want those little particles entering my engine.
@YD.007 жыл бұрын
cristovalsalgado55 as long as you do it right and not hammer anything in, no particles will come off. Just use the spiral ez out and you should be fine
@dannypalmer7701 Жыл бұрын
They should make them longer to fit in a Ford and Dodges spark plug holes!!😮
@conorfeeney65438 жыл бұрын
what socket did you use?
@YD.008 жыл бұрын
I can't remember exactly the size but use the closest fit for the ez-out. Because you won't have one that is an exact fit or at least I did not.
@abidegraphics98367 жыл бұрын
my easy out got stripped so now its stuck in the spark plug in the head. so now i have no idea how to get both of them out
@YD.007 жыл бұрын
did you try every bit set you have to see the tightest fit? also if you feel like a ratchet is not strong enough to loosen the plug i would try getting the heavy duty torque wrench as long as you don't put in too much force and make sure you lube down where the spark plug is with wd-40 or any lubricant
@abidegraphics98367 жыл бұрын
i heard you are not supposed to place any lube in the valve because it can come down and fall in your block. n yeah it was a tight fit in was moving little by little with a lot of force then it just stripped
@YD.007 жыл бұрын
it all depends honestly, I did research and found that it is okay because when you turn your car on, the heat will evaporate it anyways. I used PB blaster and actually sprayed a good amount. if it stripped then maybe use a smaller size bit from what you used. but if you're using too much force and it doesn't budge then you shouldn't force it too much because you don't want to strip it more. I never had or heard of anyone having the problem of stripping the ez out.
@abidegraphics98367 жыл бұрын
ayoub00 yeah I tried a size and it won't fit it's weird.
@YD.007 жыл бұрын
I wish I can post pictures here. So there's different types of sockets. so the common one is usually the hexagon one with 6 sides. then there's other sockets that have more teeth. if you go on google images and type "different ratchet sockets" you will see what I'm talking about. maybe if you try a socket with a different trim you might have better luck getting a tight fit. hope this helps. or here go to this. if you scroll down, you will see the different sockets numbered and name of each one. somanyhobbies.wordpress.com/2011/05/19/basic-tools-ratchets-and-sockets/

@YD.008 жыл бұрын
I believe it was a 6" but the extension all depends on how far the spark plug is located in your car.
