I like your way of getting the sensor out. My knuckle was so rusted that I got front knuckles off of a parting-out car and drilled out the sensor. I used a hex driver drill bit with a hex extension so that I could drill straight into the sensor hole.

That's one way to do it. This was a very small amount of rust on this one. I can't imagine what you guys up north have to deal with.

Good video, my element just plugged in the new abs sensor and the light went off no need for the scan tool.

I don't think I had to reset it on my Odyssey either. It's probably resets itself in a few miles. I never bothered to check. Plus I'm trying to show what all you can do with a medium rage scanner.

Really appreciate the library of repair vids you’re building for the Element. Inspires me to tool around on my 03 Sunset Orange Pearl EX that we bought new. I have an O2 sensor I need to replace as well, so I’ll be looking out for your vid on that.

I'll get to that one soon. My 2004 Odyssey needs one as well.

In my accord 07 v6 I took the axle out of the knuckle and then drilled the sensor out. With the axle out from knuckle you have access to both ends of the sensor. I drilled it out.

That's good information. I've had a few Accords over the years. Love the V6.

I have a 2003 E that was bought in Maine and driven back & forth to Florida over the decades. I have acquired this 'project' 3 weeks ago and am repairing the many problems one at a time. However, when I do a search for ' how to repair the rear bumper on a Honda Element' all videos refer to just the plastic covering and not the metal bumper. Mine is 3/4th eaten out by rust and before I begin this project for a reasonable junk yard salvage, do you have any suggestions or a how-to video covering the removal/replacement of the actual metal bumper?
@clintsearcy325210 ай бұрын
I've bever had to remove that bar but I'm sure it's not too tricky once you get the cover off.

Great demonstration. What size drill bit? I'm always concerned about dropping some debris down into the hole when hacking away at the stump like this so maybe a shop vaccum might help or perhaps some compressed air forced in from the bottom?

I think it's about 1/4".

You could put some anti seize around the body. Might help if you ever need to pull it again.

Good suggestion.

Was thinking the same thing and as always, some anti-seize on the bolt too.

i had to use a torch 😁 only thing that worked for me after messing with it for hours
@clintsearcy325210 ай бұрын
Ohhhh fun! I thought about a torch, but I wanted to start as small as I could.

What scan tool are you using? And how do you like it so far?
@clintsearcy325210 ай бұрын
My scanner is a "Innova 5410". I like it because it will read SRS and ABS codes.

I had mine break off on the rear. I ended up drilling it out.
