L. Sam Acquista depends on overall condition of the carpets, as long as the fibers are good meaning not worn & the carpet overall is in good condition than there is no need to replace them.

Thank you for posting this excellent video. I can't find a skilled person in our area willing to do this job, so it will be DIY. I need to restretch in bedrooms with extremely heavy tempurpedic beds that I do not want to move. I think the tail spike ("rat tail') is the method to use instead of the tubes to opposing wall method shown elsewhere. The rental power stretcher units do not come with the tail spike and the spikes are about $100 online. Does anyone have any advice or other solutions for the partial room stretch situation?

Zero BS You can use a tube power stretcher. Put some sliders under each leg of the bed and slide the bed and stretch a section of the room at a time. I do it all the time. I hardly ever have to take a bed down. Just slide it back and forth. Hope this helps 👍🏻

So how do you handle the cutouts for floor-mounted HVAC vents? Once you stretch the carpet., the rectangular cutout for the vent shifts...now to make sure you have a new cutout over the vent hole and carpet where part of the cutout shifted?

This seems like a serious case of rippling / buckling ... In minor “ rippling “ like mine where plain water that didn’t exactly make it easily to the freezer use your iron and a damp towel ... Do however Google this method for best results before attempting .
