You're a lifesaver...halos were driving me nuts, particularly the naturally occurring ones in my photos where I hadn't even done any Lightroom/Photoshop adjustments. Thanks

I've watched a dozen different videos on this and was getting really frustrated. your video literally was a one time watch, didn't have to rewind and try to remember all the million steps, and I just fixed about a dozen of my photos in minutes. thanks man!

This is brilliant, Nick. I keep telling myself I know Photoshop and then I come across tips like this and feel like a newb again! :D This is going to work brilliantly in my Astrophotography when I combine an exposure for the light painted foreground and the dark night sky or any different time exposures. Thanks, man! -Aaron

This is one of those tips that when you learn it, it's a "Oh wow" type thing. Nicely explained. So simple when you think about it. Love the bonus addition at the end. It's so frustrating when you hear people afraid to use PS. With layers and opacity sliders and just a little thinking, you can do anything you can think of. :-) Nice job.

Hi Nick, brilliant as always. I have just faced a problem and it would be a tip for next tutorials: how about showing some tricks to remove lens flare from photos. Keep up the great job! Cheers
@NickPage7 жыл бұрын
lens flare is one of the most difficult things to remove after the fact! great idea!
@robjason96957 жыл бұрын
Tamás Kovács simple! just take a second exposure with your finger, hand, whatever blocking the sun. Use that frame to mask out any flare.

Hi Rob, thanks for the tip. Actually I started to look for workarounds for lens flare and I have seen this solution, however for I took a photo last week and realised the flare only later at home. I know it is a silly mistake, and I am sure that next time I shall check my photos on-scene with paying more attention :) However, the only option I have with this photo is to try to remove the flare in post - currently seems to be an ultimate competition for me, but will try to do my best. Thanks for the suggestion anyway!

As always I enjoyed this tutorial. For an upcoming video I would like to suggest a compare and contrast between Raya Pro and the TK action sets I see you have both. Currently I have Raya Pro 2.0 but I feel like TK version 5 might be a better fit. Haven't been able to find a compare and contrast video anywhere.

Thats in the works, I am also comparing Lumenzia in the review as well. i talked to Jimmy Mac today and he has a new panel coming out next week I will be including as well....... I am going to be watching a whole lot of tutorials learning all these different panels lol

Thank Nick for this tip, I was watching Sean Bagshaws video using the same technique last night but like the merge visible layers tip to create a snapshot of the current image 👍. Will be giving this a go tonight when I’m home from work. Does this also work with halos around trees, foliage etc that you get when doing exposure blending?

Thanks Nick. How would you fix the white halo if the sky is darker than the foreground?
@elnaelna446710 ай бұрын
Hello, Nick! Your tutorial is amazing! I came across with one problem, like you have dark mountains and stamping in darken mode don’t affect them . But what to do if for example I have white walls or something in light compare to the sky. What would you advice in this situation.

Hi Nick. Enjoying your videos. One question concerning your workflow in Nik Color Efex on this video - Instead of adding the effect globally in Nik, then black-masking in PS, then white-painting to reveal the extra water detail in PS, why didn't or couldn't you just use the "brush" in Nik Color Efex to simply paint over the water area in PS? It seems to me that this would certainly save you some unnecessary steps in your process.
@NickPage7 жыл бұрын
it would be pretty much the same, although I would rather use layer masks to define my affected area, rather than the brush in Nik, because the mask can easily be altered and refined later on.. but really its just a preference thing, not really a "right way"
@jensvielmann76627 жыл бұрын
Since a year or two I believe that Halos are always caused by bad editing. Anyways, in this case wouldnt it be easier to just blur/feather the mask between skies and foreground ?? P.S. sorry may come over a bit more critical than intended. I appreciate that you take the time to educate us for free.

Post any tutorial on PS for us PS challenged followers as long as you explain each step. With PS you have to think steps ahead and how to get to your end result. It is over whelming with options.
