I'm removing the headstock logo from a Squier Affinity Strat neck trying two suggested methods: 3-in-One oil and Acetone. Music is "Lonesome Journey" by Keys of Moon.

Yoooooo, the comments on here were mad negative smh. But…. Who am I to judge ? Anyhow … came to the comments to thank ya for posting. I’ve been just messing around and rebuilding a few of my old guitars, a few of them squires (not that , that even matters) and I’ve been trying different ways to remove logos and any type of print really. Thanks brotha.

Did the acetone affect the existing finish at all? Did you have to re-seal it?

I didn't search anything to do with Squier. *KZbin* : you will now suffer true pain.

Had you used something a little coarser than plain cloth with the oil you'd have had success. Acetone is quite capable of also removing some lacquer or paint surfaces, I would test on a less conspicuous surface first.

Don't look like workie to me, you can still see a white Squier.

The wood has darkened with age and exposure to UV light - except where it was blocked by the black lettering. Similar to tan lines on a person after a day at the beach. The acetone worked perfectly.

What to do with this white Squier? I've got the same result here 😔

As long as there is no other logo (fender) put on the headstock why not squire isn’t worth anything significant.

To be honest…… if the guitar sounded ok 🤔 I wouldn’t give a shit what was on the headstock 👍🏻 just my opinion. Have a nice day 👍🏻

If the instrument plays well why remove the logo?I own a few modded basses by Squier and they benefited from that. However, a Fender strat doesn’t play 6X better when you considers the laws of diminishing returns.
@RonzillaRocks-yi5yo8 ай бұрын
It's going to be a copy of EVH's black and white Frankenstrat. The headstock didn't say Squier on it.

Show of us players are ashamed to be seen with a Squire. We can change the pick ups out, buy a Fender American logo and fool everybody

I think you are missing the point of what he’s trying to accomplish. However I agree if the squier plays great wouldn’t you want people to know you didn’t pay out the ass for a great guitar?

For aesthetics. Painting a guitar does nothing for it either, if you want to consider that. Why paint a guitar that is already painted (or not)? I've removed headstock logos, and done custom paint jobs, etc. None of the guitars I've done that too needed those things. Just like Mr. Miagi said: "Paint-a Picture. Take-a guitar (err... bonsai tree). Make-a like picture.".
