I wish more people could find your video. This is exactly how to do this job. So many videos show the removal of the parking brakes, and the fight to re-assemble and install them, and using presses and giant hammers. The only things I did different: 1) I didn't remove the ABS sensor from the hub. It looked like it was going to break if I did attempt to remove it, so I followed up under that area of the body, and unplugged it. Then I removed the 6mm head bolts that were holding it's cable, and the long plastic clip. That allowed the sensor to stay in place as I dipped the hub assembly outward, and remove the end of the axle. 2) I didn't slid hammer from the center hub via the wheel studs. I put the end of slide hammer through the center of the hub and used a thick "SAE" style washer that was big enough to grab only the inner face of the splined hub. Took a few hits to get that hub moving, but then it started to come out. I use Kroil for stuff like this, and during the installation of the new bearing, I coated surfaces with copper anti-seize. I used the big front wheel drive wheel bearing puller kit, like you can rent from the auto parts stores. I own that kit, so I just had to figure what sizes and shapes I needed.

Thank you so much for taking the time to make and share this video. I watched many videos on the same subject, but your. methods seemed the best. So I watched your video many times throughout the process of replacing the bearing in my car. My car is now running smoothly again, thanks to your kindness. 🙏🙏

Let me know if you have any issues or anymore help. My CRV has been quiet ever since. If your local, I still have another extra bearing. I thought I'd get the wrong side and have to change the other, but ended up getting the right one.

Nobody has a real good video demonstrating how to use a hub tamer. Please note that this is a California vehicle free of any corrosion.

tracy glenn i think i put those in about 2 years ago. It wasn’t bad at all. Bearings was more difficult. So far they have been great and feels a lot better when there is load. By myself they feel a bit too stiff.

Do you really need an alignment after that oh it should be fine leave that way it is

Hey mike I saw you have the kyb full shocks in the video, Me n my dad just installed the front ones for our crv 2005. We have been getting a noise when spin the wheel as if the shock is getting stuck to something as we turn, any ideas on how we can fix that issue? Thanks in advance
@mikee12163 жыл бұрын
You’re spinning the wheel when it’s lifted? Or do you mean when moving? If moving and while turning you are hearing a click, maybe cv boot? Do you see a torn or grease outside of the cv boot?
@coxbusiness5553 жыл бұрын
@@mikee1216 It happens when we drive the car making the right or left turn now, the axle was changed as well. Nothing is leaking.. I parked it and started turning the wheel my dad was saying that the clock was coming from the shock like if it was stuck to something. Someone said it could be the way it’s tighten on the top maybe but we aren’t sure.

DO you have to do all of this to replace a broken wheel stud?
