I guess someone would want it . Personally, I never had issues with delayed attacks, because very often the animations would tell you exactly when to roll. Genuely, the only time where I had issues with delayed attacks was on Lies of P, because on that game the animations are quite snappy. But most ER bosses specially Messmer overall have very good animations and I found them very easy to avoid those attacks. Furthermore, it can even help with the stamina regen to those player who simply roll when needed, of even chances for Windows for those player that experiment. I think that by Removing these delays would make the boss far less interesting.

@@ramen3643 Yeah! I would’ve never guessed that I’ll be loving delayed attacks in Elden Ring back in 2022, but here we are, and what I will say is: “From Software, please add more delayed attacks” lmao they literally made all of Elden Ring bosses that much better, you can do so much in between them it’s crazy honestly, I just cannot go back, back then, delayed attacks were such a mere nuisance, their timings didn’t obtain much for you as a player, but it’s an entirely different story in ER. Lies of P’s delayed attacks are so bad in comparison. I just cannot believe how From Software made me love something that I wouldn’t have expected to love, which are the delayed attacks, holy crap, it’s genius!

I Still hate these attacks even after learing how to dealing with them. Elden Ring is superficially speaking a copy of Dark Souls 3, the game practically begs you to play it like Dark Souls 3 and then punishes you for doing so. the same movement, the same menus, the same mechanics. And the mechanics that would help you have fewer problems with the boss moveset, such as stance, jumping, dual-stance, are poorly/not explained. I just can't get myself to like these attacks, even if I try hard.

@@ReinhardTristanHeydrich Delayed attacks, while more common , are not unique to Elden Ring though, Idk why are you telling me all of this... Like on DS3, you just roll when the attack is going to end instead of when is going to start, thats why I appreciated Messmer good animations instead of snappy ones. I personally like good delayed attacks, if you still do not is fine man.

Not to mention Messmer charging up doesn't even feel that unnatural unlike margit or any other boss that you can give an example of, this is not even a realistic world we are talking about a *game* character that can transform into snake and can create his own fire with his hand. Ngl, I would very much prefer Messmer with delayed attacks. His delays, like Mohg, made the rhythm of his bossfight really enjoyable and it makes the fight more dance-like. Especially when you turn the music on, man dancing with his moveset at a specific tempo while the music is playing is just mesmerizing. Removing the delays would simply remove that enjoyment factor I had for Messmer for the most part.

The souls community's hate for delayed attacks makes no sense to me. It isn't like any boss is switching between a short and long version of an attack, the attack animations work exactly how fromsoft intended so they aren't "delayed".
@anonisnoone6125
@anonisnoone6125 2 ай бұрын
U don't need to use technically to change the type of attacks they r. Input reading on ER is a boss reacting to ur animation start up rather than clicking a button, but that doesn't mean it's not input reading cos it's designed differently. The delayed attacks r still delayed cos they're slower than normal.

It’s interesting to see this mod, but it does make his attacks a lot less distinct since you don’t need to worry about timing your rolls since all the attacks hit at nearly the exact same time, and more advanced strategies to punish some of his moves wouldn’t work if his combos didn’t have the delays that they do

They are here for a reason stamina management and rhythmic flow of the fight, and its not like messmer's delayed attacks are too different. In fact, messmer is one of the most ds3 boss you can see in elden ring or you can say he can be dealt by like your playing dark souls 3. You say that as if the game wasn't an open-world Dark Souls 3. After all, the combat mechanics that differentiate it from Dark Souls 3 aren't as apparent as in Sekiro. If people play Elden Ring as Dark Souls 3 and don't understand what they're doing wrong, it's the game's design that's at fault. I myself began to find Elden Ring's bosses much better when I discovered these mechanics such as stance and the usefulness of jumping, and I discovered them because of youtube videos. Not to mention that there are many attacks that it's more a matter of luck to figure out how to dodge, such as the Waterfowl dance, and the attack that Margit spins with his weapons. Both attacks are dodgeable, I know that, after all I've done it myself. But that doesn't remove the fact that learning how to dodge these attacks is simply awful, so much so that there are guides explaining how to dodge them.
@shinyhydreigon7257

@@ReinhardTristanHeydrich Huh? Did you not watch a single trailer detailing jumping and stance breaking (and guard counters but I'm guessing you don't use shields). There is a fucking tutorial in the game that explains stance breaking and jumping! Elden Ring lets the player play the game, and choose how much they want to learn the mechanics. Sadly, players will take the path of least resistance and opt to playing comfortabley instead of trying to actually learn. And no Margit's combos, and Waterfowl to an extent are intuitive to dodge. Just because you caved and looked up a guide dosn't change that.

@@shinyhydreigon7257 "Huh? Did you not watch a single trailer detailing jumping and stance breaking (and guard counters but I'm guessing you don't use shields)." No, i just played Dark Souls 3, think its good game, go to Elden Ring. Also, if i need watch the trailer to know how play the game, so something is wrong. "There is a fucking tutorial in the game that explains stance breaking and jumping! " I Don't find it. And even with that totorial, is very bad indeed. Since the enemy they put to "explain" this is super weak. Also, this method is not at all efficient, after all the game even with a trailer demonstrating, and a tutorial (even if poor), we still have MANY players who still play the game as Dark Souls 3, this is not a case exclusive to me, quite the contrary. And what proves this most are the public comments/reception of videos badmouthing Elden Ring like Joseph Anderson'. And even Loopine proves this, because he said that he only began to understand the boss mechanics after facing Malenia, even though he had thousands of hours in Souls games, he didn't understand the mechanics of the bosses, this is clearly a bad result. "Elden Ring lets the player play the game, and choose how much they want to learn the mechanics. Sadly, players will take the path of least resistance and opt to playing comfortabley instead of trying to actually learn." Yes, the meta problem is partly caused by the problems I mentioned. "And no Margit's combos, and Waterfowl to an extent are intuitive to dodge. Just because you caved and looked up a guide dosn't change that." Wrong, like i said: "these attacks is simply awful, so much so that there are guides explaining how to dodge them" Literraly the existence of guides (especially the waterfowl dance), and your "and Waterfowl *to an extent* are intuitive to dodge" prove the inverse. Margit's attack is clearly a better case because it's less punishing and mortal, but he is it's clearly not intuitive to dodge. tell me, how was I supposed to guess that I should go to the side of margit to dodge his spinning attack? And no, I didn't learn these attacks by researching them, I learned Margit's attack by watching Joseph Anderson's video responses, and Malenia I learned to dodge by watching another Elden Ring critique video. And, about waterfowl dance, there are entire guides, entire videos focused only on this attack, and especially when it comes to dodging at close range, things become even less intuitive. How on earth would I imagine that the game's jump can increase my speed or that my hitbox is half deactivated so that I can dodge the attack by running and jumping? How on earth is a player supposed to imagine that he should spin around the boss to confuse the aim of the blow and thus be able to dodge it? Edit: maybe i won't reply to your comment, youtube hasn't notified me of your reply even after 13 hours of it being posted. This notification system is very bad.
