Great tool, and the dad gum thing must be extremely sharp. The weight and sharpness cuts through those roots like butter.

You can pull the root from under the sidewalk or leave it and it will decompose and if your sidewalk is lifted from the root, it will go back down. if you got a fine from the city for having a trip hazard and it's marked, then you have to dig around the root and pull it out of the side where the root is thickest - then back fill it with sand and pack it in the void!

So how do you get the root out from underneath the sidewalk it’s lifting?

Having problems trying to pull it out? soak it in water then let it dry. This will expand and then when it's dry, shrink the root and the soil around it will all be loose and it will be easier to pull out.

Get a saws-all with a demo blade 10 x as fast
@bradtindell9022 жыл бұрын
For roots at the surface, yes, but roots well below the surface a saws-all doesn't work because now you are on your hands and knees trying to put that saw down in a hole up to your elbows or armpits and see what's going on. A real good way to hurt yourself.

By damaging the surface roots doesn’t that cause instability to the tree and in time possibly killing the tree?
@y2ksurvivor Жыл бұрын
You can look up your exact tree type and how far out the roots need to be to maintain stability. You can then cut beyond that point.
