Removing runners on strawberry plants

I have been removing runners and the leaves are growing so big but no flowers yet. Its already middle of August. Whats going on? Will they ever bear fruit?

If it's an annual/day-neutral strawberry plant, it should move over to flower production next. This would depend on if it's getting the water (1 to 1.5 inches of water a week) and nutrients. Very warm periods (in the 90s F) can further delay flower development.
