Removing the Cueing Apparatus on a Rega RB-300 tonearm, may apply to other Rega arms. Main tools needed, a very small thin bladed straight screwdriver and a .050 allen wrench.

what viscosity should the damping fluid be on a Rega?

The Rega cueing devices use grease for damping and not silicone fluid. They are usually very reliable and don't need service, although the cam mechanism can wear after many decades of heavy use.

I had a 250 cuing lever breaking on me 5 years ago. But usually they are reliable. They tend to get stiffer with time though. For what it's worth, you are better off replacing it if it breaks

A search for "rega rb300 tonearm lift" should find it on the UK ebay site - I've just ordered one for a Planar 3 of a similar age because it sinks on its own.

I used tweezers that fitted to the spanner nut to remove it.

Any suggestion on how to adjust the height. Even after adjusting with the alan wrench it does not lock to the necessary height to lift the arm from the record?

Hi , I recover on an old arm Rega a ToneArm lifter, do you think it is possible to change it to turn it into ToneArm automatic lifter end? It may be interesting to find a solution that will be an alternative to ToneArm lifter automatic relatively expensive, what do you think? 😜👍🏽
