It reminds me of the story of a master cabinet maker working on a new cabinet. A friend stopped in to visit and found the cabinet maker carving an intricate design inside the cabinet. "Why waste your time, no one will ever see it inside the cabinet?" The cabinet maker replied, "I'll know it is in there." He has a personal pride in his work.

I use to HATE seeing a truck with a power slider pull into the parking lot at the glass shop I worked at. The dodge is the worst, but these are pretty bad in their own right... To dang time consuming and tight gaps to cut. We had a guy come in and unload his 4 wheeler in the parking lot after he had driven it into his back window loading it. We hated deer hunting season lol. Guess......Just fricking guess what he did when he picked up his truck and loaded up.....Yep, 4 wheeler right into the new backglass. His wife called him every name you could think of in the parking lot at the top of her lungs lol. We never saw him again thank god. Probably took it elsewhere from sheer embarrassment.

I didn't have a chance to argue against weathertech floormats (bought off the lot). I would have agreed with you on the cost, but they truly have saved my carpet. Floor mats just help but in the end, don't save the carpet (extend its life?ish)... but my carpet looks new with my truck making your Dirtnali look like a pavement princess. I think their 'value' comes from keeping the water off the floor. Nice thing with the mats, I can pull the weather techs out, toss the mats in and listen to people proclaim how nice the truck is "because the carpet looks new" .... :D

My old (1989) for ranger had a rear window that was held in with a huge rubber gasket. I replaced the factory fixed glass with a slider myself. That was a pain in the ass. Then I did it on my old Toyota pickup work truck outside of the veterans administration building on Vermont Avenue in DC when I stupidly locked my keys in the truck. That was in '91 before every vehicle came with a key fob. The not so good old days lol.

I leave my My Car mats in when I get new one also figure it might just be a little more protection from dirt and water. I figure it won’t hurt anyway.
