Removing Vellfire / Alphard stock central console

This is an instruction on how to remove the stock central console on the Toyota Vellfire ANH20, or the second generation of Vellfire / Alphard. There are other much cleaner ways, but I chose not to because it involves removing both the front seats, which is not ideal. So this method will be faster, but it also involves breaking a few clips on the plastic, so be warned!

The proper way is actually to pry the back panel off, unclip the 3 connectors, unbolt the two bolts at the back and then pull the entire console towards the back. The front of the console is actually held by the two white plastic that locks itself into place. But i still appreciate that there are others beside me making videos on this car. We can learn from each other.

No need to do most of that. Unclip rear cover as in video, undo 2x M10 bolts, slide backwards and out it comes. The front fixings do not need to be undone, they go into a sliding mounting. No need to unclip the side (or take seats out!)

Hi… need confirmation regarding ANH20 aircond MODE. If we set the MODE arrow to feet, does the air vents on left and right still blowing out air? Mine center air vents stopped blowing air but both left and right still got slight air coming out. Thks in advance!

No I did not unfortunately. I did not replace the console in the end. Too expensive :(

@@JackYoung-vw9zb I'd like to have a go at adding usb's but got a feeling the other end of the looms aren't connected to anything. I wonder if a vellfire centre console is an easy connection using the existing cables that go to the power outlet. My existing console is identical to yours and quite non luxurious compared to the rest of the car.🤔

Actually in the end, I didn't install a new console, because I couldn't find a console that I liked. So I kept on using the original console:(
