You hit me hard when you say that you should give yourself credit if you get up and make yourself something to eat. My family worries so much about me because I don’t eat. So when I do, I make sure to show them that I’m eating. I feel so bad that they worry so much about me. I love Ren because we might all have different issues, but he lets us know that we can make it through.

Ren tells exactly and expresses exactly what it’s like to have lyme and autoimmunity. Luckily for me personally, it’s by sheer determination that I as another lyme warrior and autoimmunity with a similar story as Ren, that I have survived. I too have a faith that in God that keeps me fighting and having hope

Ren is from the UK, Lyme is very rare so he wasn't tested for it. The drs treated him for Bi-polar depression and ME (chronic fatigue syndrome). He was given a ton of meds his body didn't need, it made him worse and gave him brain damage. Ren tells his story of everything he went through in the chapters, on his page RenMakesStuff. He started making videos called Me vs M.E. a Dr saw his videos and reached out to him. The Dr had a stem cell clinic and said it might help. It did. The lyme still attacks his body. He has an autoimmune disease and is able to eat only 5 items, rice was recently added. He was only able to eat meat and a few vegetables. You will see in videos that he is "ripped" as most would say. This is why and he also works out. It's very important to do so.. It helps with inflammation.

FWIW, Ren got sick around 19yrs old and got progressively worse until he was properly diagnosed and treated around 26. 25 is where he was hallucinating and on su1c1de watch. His sickness is less linear from there with various treatments, progress and relapses as well as further diagnostics. Two stem cell treatments at 26 were what initially arrested his decline and gave him some autonomy back. He lived in that space for a while dealing with his PTSD until he decided to try for better in 2022 (he says he was at about 60% and wanted to aim for 80+%). When he first went to Canada for treatment in 2023 he said he learned more about what was wrong with him in a matter of weeks than he had ever known. They treated a lot of co-infections and issues like infections he has contracted separately but his body had been unable to fight off, as well as treating the underlying issues and nerve and brain damage. He's since relapsed badly, but is rebounding a bit. Just today he posted that his Canadian doctors have advised him to seek Lyme-specific treatment elsewhere and he's hoping for that in January. Ren writes and records pretty non-linearly, as well, sometimes pulling songs out of his archives to polish and release years and years later, sometimes writing and recording them all at once only to not release them for years. The songs on Freckled Angels are all in that 19-25 time period as he released the album to fund treatments. I think it was 6 of the songs that had been written and recorded in his very early 20s under his contract with Sony. That contract expired while he was ill and years later his ex-producer gave him full ownership and permission to release them. The rest he wrote and recorded from his house while deteriorating. Love Music is another big conglomeration. The time between stem cell treatments and his move to Canada - 26 to 32 - is where you get busking-with-friends Ren, The Big Push, Demos 1 & 2 and much of Sick Boi. But even a couple from Sick Boi were from before and a couple were after 😅

He fights with health issues from age of 19 (he is 34 now) and for the first 7 years doctors misdiagnosed and treat him with all kind of pills for bipolar and other mental problems, while the whole time he has Lyme disease, when he finds out about his Lyme after those 7 years, he already have big damage to his brain and body and develop autoimmune diseases because his Lyme hasn't been diagnosed and treated for years! He is still trying to fix his body and this isn't easy thing for his mental state.

That's one of the things I love about ren, he is straight out of the 90s. I was born in 83, so the 90s were my prime decade 😂 so it's comfort for me. Ren was born in 1990 😁🥹💜

Hi! 👋 Really glad you are starting at the beginning. You’ll be blown away by his growth. Ren is a truly special human. ❤️🩹 He got sick when he was 19, was misdiagnosed for 8+yrs, and given medications unnecessarily. Some of which made him worse. Ren has Lyme Disease, MCAS and Chronic Fatigue amongst others. Those years of misdiagnosis has caused huge damage to his body and brain. He has been through so much in his life and he’s only 34! I highly recommend watching his 1-8 chapters where he explains what’s happened. There are songs at the end so you can just stop before they start so you keep up with your chronological order. 😊👍

Especially poignant that you should react to this now. I think this was written when he was still housebound at about 25. Ren is just pulling himself out of a really serious relapse of Lyme and autoimmunity. It was really scary and triggered all of his ptsd regarding being thrown back into that place. He shared on a live stream from Slaughterhouse that he will probably have the autoimmunity for life and that he knows now he will not be able to tour. He us 34 now. Every time his health crashes, he needs to re evaluate and reconstruct his life. He is doing supportive therapies now, and will seek ne Lyme treatment in Jan. Our warrior. ❤

Especially poignant that you react to this one now. He was dtill housebound and as sick as he got when he was 25. Including bouts of psychosis triggered when Lyme bacteria attacks his brain. 2 months ago he had a very serious relapse that pit him back in the hospital, temporarily blund in one eye and in excruciating pain. All his ptsd was triggered and thst fear of being theown back into those worst days. He us terrified , no of dying, but if living the rest of his lufe in pain and illness. He's still spending most of his time in bed, nut using supportive therapies line hyperbaric oxygen, methylne blue. Red lught and sauna to improve his healyh before seekung new Lyme treatment in Jan. He says he realizes that he may have it for lufe and also that he won't be able to tour. Everytime he relapses he needs to resctructure his relationship to himself and the illness. And yet, he still gives it all to us. The live stream is posted on his Renmakesstuff channel. Health dtuff is in the 1st half hour bere he plays Slaughterhouse.

Interesting first choice for a reaction. Usually people start with his most famous or most recent songs. This song contains the kernels of lots of themes that run through Ren's later work. There's an 'AI' reactor called Disco Doc - Naughty Therapist Reacts (who may or may not be Ren) who did a 20 minute documentary on this song, following it's origins with Melanie Safka through the Wu Tang Clan to Ren: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJi0g6Wsrrqpbbs
