First watch of you, and I like how you actually listened. It seems you already know Ren usually does everything, EXCEPT when he titles "retakes." It's when he challenges himself to create a rap/song over someone else's beat, and just has fun. Fisher's EDM song "Losing It" was extremely popular in the 90s, and Ren just spits a ton of monster/killer references here. I love playing high school English teacher during second and third listens ("Illest of Our Time" is a great example of this. It wasn’t until I read the lyrics that I figured out he was talking about his brain damage during the last part of the song. I got the noodles for brains reference, but not the larger arc. His retake of Bittersweet Symphony is great, too.😊 Off to see your reactions. I hope you've heard Ren with Eden Nash ("Ocean" and "Humble"), as they're my current favorites (alongside "Power and "Genesis").

It's a very british thing to rap over EDM beats. That was big in the 90s when rave and hiphop-culture were merging in the UK. You can here this also in other genres like the stuff "the prodigy" did.

Pretty sure that’s correct, that’s why he didn’t/can’t upload any onto streaming platforms. Because he doesn’t own the copyright to the music, but I’m sure he knew that beforehand and still did the retake anyway.

I really appreciate it when reactors can be bothered to spend literally 3-4 minutes looking up the original song. It's the very least the original artist deserves, imho, plus it gives the reactor some familiarity with the original version so they can comment with authority on what the new artist (obvs Ren, in this case) has brought to the table. Fischer’s Losing It is an EDM track and the only lyrics are the occasional I’m losing it Ren uses retake when he keeps the music but puts new lyrics on top ( he does a retake on Bittersweet Symphony by the Verve).

What I like about this one is he is so damn good at what he does that he can record part of a video in a public toilet stall and noone sees it as odd.
