Ask any of the British invasion groups of the 60s & 70s rock n roll band that swamped America, who were you're idols, even though they were all 99% white they'd say the black Rhythm and blues bands in segregated 50s America. The UK wasnt segregated so American black music was massively popular here.

Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong Dancing cheek to cheek Classic loved by the British. My grandparents used to love jazz greats. Post ww2. The British would ignore any segregation the usa army tried to put upon them. Nope they drink in the pubs and clubs with us brits said. Having none of it, proudvof my country for that .

Nat King Cole had a tv show on national television. He was a huge star across the US and the world. Old white lady here and our house was filled with albums,Nat- Louis Armstrong- The Mills Brothers - Cab Calloway - Ella Fitzgerald- Dinah Washington- Then the Jazz greats too many to name ☮️

That's not shot in Wales btw, that's in Brighton, England. Ren was born in Wales, but moved to Brighton about 15 years ago... All the roads in the UK are pretty similar tho.

The stuff where you can see Ren is filmed in Brighton (some fans plotted the route on the "Ren's Brighton" map), but the forward-facing shots were shot in videographer Sam Perry-Falvey's hometown of Bristol. 😊

roads are that small because they are built on the original roads used by Romans, walking paths or old horse and cart dirt tracks. cities and towns in the UK been around for hundreds if not thousands of years so the roads are built around those existing places. America didn't exist so the roads were made at the same time as the cities that's why they are so straight and wide compared to the UK. but its really not hard to drive those roads, you just pull over and give way when there's an area to do it. no one has the right of way its just who ever is closer to an area to pull in that will give way.

Humble is another song you guys probably would love. Murderer is his most mainstream style but fire, with a great acustic live version. Animal flow is pretty fucking sick video and its a track that my wife requests for the car. I could listen to talk radio or a lesson on music theory while driving so ill take her opinion on the cruising songs. Illest of our times is the closest to Genesis but a little more aggressive.

When traveling from North America to Europe for the first time, one quickly realizes just how young North America really is. Many, many buildings in the UK are 500 - 1000 years old or more...so are the roads, built long before North America was "discovered".

US jazz musicians couldn’t believe when they got to France, 40s/50s that they were idolised by white folk, could check in to any hotel etc, just be treated in a proper way, that for many - even greats like Armstrong and Ellington was unknown in America. There’s a whole US history that Europeans get, and parts America won’t acknowledge. Love your reactions. 👍🏽👍

It might not be real to you but it's real to the people who have been subjected to it. Racism is all over the world but things are better today for the most part (except for the bullshit politicians who race bait). I'm Jewish and the racism is real in a similar way.

Yo, I need to say how myself and everyone I know here in the UK feel,. Skin is skin, it comes in many colors but that's only skin deep. Everyone bleeds red. Everyone feels pain, hope and joy the same way. If you're Nat King Cole, Robert Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis, Biggie or any other G,O,A,T of the ages, you should pay the respect that they deserve. Ethnicity doesn't define greatness and it never truly has.

The UK is no where near as Racist as America. You said it yourself America is about Race. Think about it you have African Americans, you have Irish Americans others say owe I have Scottish or English blood. In the UK were either from England so English or from Wales so Welsh or from Scotland so there Scottish no other races I have Welsh in my blood but am not English Welsh an just English.

I hate to talk politics during a Ren reaction, but don't kid yourselves that there are no racial issues in the UK . Black and white issues may have lessened .But there are many races and ethnic groups in Britain. I don't say this to throw shade , i say it because unfortunately there is plenty of hate in the world to go around . Ren is one of those people in the world who is truly trying make things better . If our eyes are not open to the realities, we can not make changes.

I grew up 50+ years ago and didn’t think a thing about race. We had his records and my parents loved him, didn’t point it out that he was black (we could see it) and that it made any difference at all. Things were so much better before Obama was president.
