He made this is in his mate's car on 2 mobile phones, shortly after being forced to split from Sony due to illness. Samuel Perry Falvey is the guy in the car with him now known for his brilliant videography talents.

Ren and Sony parted ways in the Trick The Fox days, 2012-ish. However at some point (possibly going back to the Sony days, or possibly later when trying to promote his independent music), he got entangled in a contract with a management company that put some constraints on how he could record or release music. Ren has chosen not to disclose who the manager was or what their disagreements were, just that "Power" (written, recorded and filmed in just a few weeks) was a celebration of fighting free from that contract. 🎉

This was done right after he left his management. Wanted to do a fun song with 2 cell phones and Sam driving. He was very early terns when his folks divorced.. Did a lot of drugs and drinking before he got Lyme. Hasn't had alcohol or unoredcribed drugs since 20-21 i think. Just pot and I think he is micro dosing mushrooms now.

This is a great song. You really need to check out "Chalk Outlines (live) - Ren x Chinchilla," you can never go wrong when Ren is singing with an acoustic guitar. You and Christank make a great team!

Yeah, Ren found his power 😎 Also if you’re into rock/metal, you should check out one of my personal favourites: Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before Ren was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. It is heart wrenching and stunning.

One of my favorite Ren tracks (with "Ocean" and "Seven Sins"). I think he wrote this song a number of years ago - just after his Sony deal fell apart - but didn't post this video until two years ago. Not sure when he recorded the audio, but his voice sounds more like his newer stuff than his younger/Freckled Angels tone.

That is Sam, but it's a different Sam. In this vid is Sam Tompkins, who he sings with. The other Sam is Samuel Perry-Falvey, the videographer who shot money game 3 and several other videos.

Great reaction... this song gets you moving. It's proof that you don't need a huge production to make a good video. Love the fact that he mentions accolades that he'll "never have" like a top 10... only to achieve that #1 album the next year by doing what he loves and sticking to they music that he wants to create.

It's kinda hard to rank Rens' songs - they're all so different, so it just depends what mood you're in. The only thing his stuff has in common is they're all bloody excellent!
