Ues this is his internal experience with chronic illness. Lyme disease and the autoimmunity keeps killing him and fircing him to reconstruct himself. Alsi covers how he is his own worst enemy in regards to mental health. He liked being vacuum packed. He had a gas mask in there. Said it felt lije a big plastic hug. This was shop back in Spring, April i think. He was accidentally stabbed in the eye during filming and continued to finish for an hour. Soent a week in hospital with cut cornea. Lost vision fir a week or so. 2 months ago the eye flared again jyst as bad with pain and blindness and his whole body started shutting down from autoimmunity. Had a very debilitated and scary 2 months with ptsd . Kniw niw he wont be able to tour and autoimmunity is a life sentence. He cried a bit telling us. I can see where this track comes from. Illness taking more of life and fircing rebirth. Samsara.

Awesome!! I've been looking forward to your reaction to this. It's so well done... every aspect of it. I just wanted to point out that the lyrics are in a pinned comment, if you want to look at them. Ren did a twitch stream after the premiere of this song. It's long (almost 3 hours), but in the first 30 minutes (Oops, I lied. It starts 40 minutes in.), he goes through the song and talks quite a bit about the meaning. It's worth watching. You can find it on his Renmakesstuff channel. Unlike “ modern “ (Judeo-Christian - Islam) religions, the Ancient Greeks didn’t differentiate the afterlife as heaven ( above) and hell ( below). Rather the afterlife was a netherworld/ underworld of levels. ELYSIUM ( fields) is ranked the highest and were relegated to warriors and heroes. TARTARUS is the deepest and darkest and relegated to the truly wicked. GAIA is the goddess of the Earth and all earthly beings. Ren is a child of GAIA. He is on a hero’s journey- battling demons ( physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental ). And as we all know his is a pure heart , NOT WICKED. AND YET his suffering is that of the wicked- he feels plunged into the darkest depths of the underworld , time and time again. The Tale of Damocles is, in a nutshell, one of “the grass is always greener “( SEVEN SINS) ; but nothing is as it appears to be. For REN the sword of Damocles , hanging precariously by a thread, is a metaphor for his health. Although all outward appearances “ tell” us, shows us that Ren looks to be quite healthy , what we don’t see is that at any moment, something that would be relatively inconsequential to any of us can cut bring that sword down and send him back into a pit of darkness and suffering.
