Honesty because Ren is like fusing trip hop vibes with modern sound and so it's like caught between this like valley of nostalgia for this sound like garage beats and old school raps combined with what was trip hop, where you had guys like tricky almost rapping over a very electronic melodic sound and of course then you had massive attack portishead fuck I had an ex-girlfriend it really liked morcheeba, anyway it's got that kind of playful back and forth where you can never really settle I mean try to class massive attack into a genre you can't and so try to class Ren into a genre you can't. But our prevailing culture wants to class everything into everything stuff that spectral definitely has its place it's a message that people hear as long as they're meant to hear it and I don't think Ren minds. If you listen to his music is clear he doesn't give a shit He's happy when it's hard to the people that need to hear it and that's how it works.

I think Ren is an actual Renaissance Man. A revolution and a revelation in one. The exploration of our dark and light traits, the struggle that it is just to live some days. All of these concepts resonate with a lot of people. I'd like to believe they would resonate with everyone, but people often embody the battle we have within ourselves. Both sides. I like that Ren addresses the sort of paradox that humans represent.

I cannot stop watching reaction videos to all of your music, and I've never done that before. It took me a while to understand why. I usually watch a couple reacts to a song when it moves me, but it's like every single work of art moves me to the point where I want to relive that first time feeling of awe through others seeing it the first time whether they're bopping their heads uncontrollably or making that scrunched up face that people only make when they're feeling a super filthy beat, or whether they're jumping up and down at the sheer joy of what they just witnessed, or bawling their eyes out, or vibrating with an overwhelming feeling of hope or just silently sitting there in a stunned state of reverence or even introspection. I've had every one of those reactions at one point or another during my dive into your music, and I'm literally only about 8 songs in, but I have to stop at every one and find all the reactions I can before I move on. Anyway, you're not likely to see this, but if you do, as a 45 year old mother of a daughter in her 20s who has been through both physical & mental struggles all of her life, your music gives ME a sense of hope for her future. She's enjoying your music too, which seems to inexplicably defy age, gender, time, and genre. You're a once in a lifetime phenomenon & I'm here for it.

Fucking hell Ren you are fucking amazing. I'm 48 live in Perth Western Australia; I listen to a bit of hip hop (mostly older stuff; I'm pretty fussy and completely intolerant of all the bullshit that seems to have become the staple of artists in the genre (like guns, misogyny & all the boring cliche'd crap). The majority of my music feed is rock n roll, especially 90s stuff, but fortunately, because I had Harry Shotta, Akala and a couple of other British Hip Hop artists in my subscribe feed, your songs started popping up on my playlists and OMG what a blessing to have found you. Your lyrics are incredible'; your flow is excellent; your composition is original and fresh and interesting and unexpected, which I love. I love artists who drop singing into their rapping and who aren't afraid of guitars - that you can do all of that, without having to rely on collabs or by using stock riffs composed and played by someone else - truely extraordinary. I think you are magical, inspirational and have talent unlike anything I've seen for a long time. THANK YOU for sharing your music with us all I feel privileged to be able to call myself a fan. I've been sharing your stuff all on my socials man I think you are a star and although I wouldn't wish massive fame on anyone, I hope that you continue to be able to make your music and achieve a level of success that means you have absolute creative freedom and a healthy paycheck without any of the treachery and misery that the music industry can inflict on artists once they reach a level of popularity.
