@@thechildishreactionren is a shit-stirrer because he's also said the opposite. 😅 But the point is that if we were just focusing on a teenage prostitute getting murdered in another crime, its already blaming the victim. And Jenny is a victim that didn't need society blaming her for her death. Jenny was 14, had walked home alone at night in high heels, was desperate to escape her life. Ren tells us she was a product of the system too, just as much as Screech, and maybe she had a choice in a way to make money to escape that life but it feels like there isn't much choice. She's just surviving, like Screech was just surviving. The Tales weren't written with Jenny and Screech originally thought of as siblings. The first tale was based of a news report on a young prostitute being stabbed near her home. And a quote from that news report "it's such a shame" The second tale was introduced with a novel & risky promo idea before the release. Ren put out he'd had his phone stolen. The thief got into his socials and posted the type of content you'd expect from a teenage delinquent... pranking his best mate, his girlfriend, petty crimes, violence, serious crimes, and a lot of inappropriate posts on Ren's socials. I mean the kiddy called himself Screech, and Ren told his fans something completely different would be happening but to not freak out. Problem was a lot of Ren's fans didn't get the memo were calling the police, reporting the 'crimes' all fake, reporting every post, pleading with Screech to give the phone back. Ren almost lost his instagram, lost a huge amount of fans, was down to his final warning, but had sunk too much into the promo and just hoped the pay-off would be worth it. He started alt accounts for Screech, did an announcement, and ran out the final few bits of content on screech's separate socials to make the lead up to moment Screech meets violet. Then released Screech's tale. Hev wanted us to see screech's humanity and that we're all just one or two bad decisions away from being the villains in our own tale. It was in trying to write Violet's tale that he realised Jenny and Screech were twins. That maybe somewhere deep in his head he knew that. Btw we had to do a video "choose your own adventure" across a LOT instagram accounts for part of The Money Game competition last year. It opens on Stevie, after the seagulls, still in the room with Violet. To successfully pass that part of the days puzzle we each had to get Stevie out of the city alive, really just through the the night alive. It was deeply disturbing and had some wonderful horror themes too. But its amazing how quickly we each found ourselves kinda rooting for Stevie. Not necessarily wanting him escaping consequences but certainly not wanting him dead. You will live the VR 360° street performance concert of this. There is extra poetry but also a lot of insight into Ren's intentions. Ultimately doesn't matter if Jenny is a prostitute, other than if Jenny is JUST a prostitute

Ren's Bardcore is second to none. He's working on new Tales now. This one is dark but exposes the age old problem of generational violence. You should probably do something more upbeat next. I saw Losing It and Power as suggestions. Both of those are excellent. You could also add The Hungar, Uninvited and Love Music 1-4 to those. Also, any the songs busking with The Big Push. I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop and Warpigs (Black Sabbath Cover) where Ren is wearing red suspenders (braces) are great. Very nice reaction. Appreciate you!

Aside from being a multi talented artist who can seemingly do it all… He is also an exceptional human being. Ren changes people. I’ve seen it happen again and again. He has this amazing ability to put a mirror in front of our faces to not only inspire… Which he does beautifully… But he also starts conversations about difficult, even excruciating, topics… bring them to the forefront to make us see it and deeply feel it. And, God willing, change it. Stop it. Prevent it. That is an insanely rare and profoundly special thing for an artist. And proof of that SHINES in the caliber and character of his fan base. He truly has Shakespearean levels of talent and depth that could very well lead to him standing among the greatest that have ever been. And I absolutely do not say that lightly. I’ve had my fair share of trips around the sun, and I have not been excited about an artist in quite a long time. But there is simply nobody like Ren. A once in a generation artist. There are musicians and then there are artists. Ren Never fails to prove which one you are watching. Welcome to the Renaissance! ☮️♥️

They didn'y just grow up missing a mother. They grew up missing a father too. Stevie would have even been in prison for murder, or on the run. On the small chance that he was acquitted, there's no way he would have been allowed to raise those children and I doubt he would have wanted to anyway, considering his character. Jenny and James would have grown up in the care system and were obviously separated at a young age. They definitely didn't know each other when they met, which just adds another layer of tragedy. It's positively Shakespearean! :)

Mr. Child, I love your reactions and I love each of the Money Games so much, I would actually like to see your response to them in Separate videos in order to build up to Ren's stunning performance of his gripping tale, the grand finale Money Game 3. @@thechildishreactionit's one of my favourites. So fricking smooth, and melodic, and vibing. I'm working with a rescue horse with ptsd at the moment, and the other week we were trying liberty work but I couldn't get her out of her reactive state. I found myself singing Back on 74...thought "fuck it, nothing else has worked" So I put it on, loud, on my phone Her curiosity was immediate and she started to soften her expression. Then very quickly she went down for a roll, an extremely vulnerable state for a horse. Got up, big shake, another roll, a big shake and BIG exhale. Then she was off - first trotting then cantering but making it fit the music. Really showing off in pleasure, almost dancing. Tossing her head around, enjoying herself and truly appreciating the msic. By the time that one song was over she was a different horse. Came up for cuddles, was engaged and listening but not in a "I'm listening because you might hurt me" way. I thought after almost 2 years I'd introduced all the IRL folks I already knew. I have even got my local magpies and black cockatoos crowding in for Ren sessions. I never even considered playing him to get through to a horse that was struggling with anxiety and fear. After my little horse, I played Ren to a group of unhandled flighty young Andalusians who my friend suggested I try getting used to people, as they were a new purchase but she hadn't had any luck getting near them. She said if I can get near then she'll let me help getting them halter trained, and eventually used to a rider. So I lay down in their massive paddock nowhere near them and put a select set of Ren on. By the end of one track I had their curiosity and attention. By the end of an hour they were crowded up around me like you'd hope to see around a decent busker. I don't think it's going to take long to learn that the humans they'll be spending time with are okay to trust, with their two new owners and myself being massive Ren fans. Their owner has now been playing Ren every time she takes down feed for them, and instead of huddling in the trees they are apparently to say hi.

Very enjoyable reaction, Mr. Child. You've struck the magic balance between pausing to insert relevant content, and just watching the video, riveted. There are a lot of newer reactors who only use Ren videos to talk about themselves. They will use Ren's videos as springboards for their own extended rants about whatever issue they think Ren's singing about. For instance, reacting to this same video, they will pause every 5 minutes to talk for 10-15 minutes, not about Ren's song or performance, but about their own upbringing and their opinions about the causes of crime. They seem to think they can say it better with their impulsive words than Ren sings about it using poetic analogies and metaphors. It comes across (to me) as arrogant and disrespectful of Ren's unique abilities and next-level talent. You're the opposite of that, and it's so refreshing to see. BTW, I would like a tour of your aquarium at the start of one of your Ren reactions.

Using music to teach verbal histories and culturally important events seems like the best way to teach. A bard could immortalise almost trivial successes, or cast disdain onto the successes of foes. They could impact court popularity, change a narrative, and rally the masses. A talented bard was extremely important to a king or lord, as they had the power to completely rewrite their story, capture the small folks hearts, ensure they are being talked about or make any deed look heroic. They could also be politically tactical, and an excellent way of fighting a battle without ever losing a life. A well crafted diss track could utterly ruin an opponent ls name and standing, making them an object of ridicule, and impacting their abilty to lead fighters. I'm all for bards

I think Violet being one letter away from “Violent” is crazy. But there’s also the expression “Shrinking Violet”… meaning an exaggeratedly quiet and shy person, a person who doesn’t like to attract attention. I would imagine that expression went into deciding her name. Ren is a frigging bonafide genius. Another masterpiece.

Ren is a God to me. That may sound silly. But I don't care. He means so much to me. If I ever had the fortune of meeting him, I'd probably cry my eyes out like a little girl. I haven't been this in to an artist EVER, even back in the 80's when I was so obsessed with current music. I haven't liked anyone current since the mid 90's, and now I've found the artist that is my favorite EVER. Ren is a huge rabbithole to go down. (And his circle of people, like The Big Push, Chinchilla, Sam Tompkins). You could probably concentrate just on that stuff and have content for months. I haven't read all the replies, so pardon if this is a repeat, but Ren has said he wants to do a Netfix series (with cinematographer Sam) that is like a musical tales series...sort of like Black Mirror, where the episodes are independent of each other, but there's kind of an overall theme or genre. He has some already written. Just waiting for his shot to give his pitch. Can you imagine if we got Tales on the regular? Oh and he said the other day that the next couple of weeks are dedicated to bringing new Tales to life, so sounds like they may be recording videos for upcoming genius Tales!

❤ OMFGosh I'm always the odd duckling out, but I constantly tell reactors not to do the trilogy right after Hi Ren and Sick Boi it gets to be very overwhelming for ppl. I have been listening to Ren for over 5 years and I never would of handled doing those in that order. There is actually no order to go in of his songs unless you are doing a specific set like trilogy, money game, love music. Us RENegades of course want you to do our favorites first bc it's so exciting seeing a emotional response but it can be very wearing on ppl for the first time especially bc we are in a culture in this generation where we aren't use to having long pondering thoughts and emotional reactions to music. As losing it is a lot of fun I really like CRUCIFY YOUR CULTURE OR OCEAN.

It's a heavy one! Nice reaction! Yep, Jenny is a lady of the night. According to Ren, he was inspired to write this after he read a news story about a 14 yr old boy who killed a prostitute. It stayed with him and he wondered what would make him do that, thus the tales were written. That's the jist of it

Ren mentioned that it bothered him that the only comment from the police after the killing was "It's such a shame", that is why both Jenny and Screech's tales end with the phrase "It's such a shame". Teenagers killing and dying these days isn't horrific or terrifying anymore, it's just "a shame".

Ren is indeed a genius, a fantastic performer, singer, actor, songwriter, composer, etc, etc he can do it all... These 3 videos are filled with so many small tidbits that you might have missed by seeing this for the first time: - the way he uses his words and sets the scene for example when he could've simply say that Screech stabbed Jenny, he does it in a much more poetic way (and continues to do it in other instances in the songs, like when the Police is coming for Screech "the shrill cry of justice like a Banshee in the night"), just the same when Jenny froze he says it in a fantastic manner that sets a scene in your head... The way he used the Guitar to knock on the door in Screech's tale, the frantic camera going around him while he stood still to show the state of mind Screech was in, how he used the phone in the middle of the song with pauses and all to wait for the call to connect... how he said the police was coming instead of just saying "the police are coming" is truly amazing, and how he said that Screech was going against the police without saying just the obvious words... how he alternates between characters and narrator, both in voice and acting (see how at the end of the call to the girlfriend he's panting, gasping for air as Screech and in the next second he's completely composed when he becomes the Narrator again, he even gets his posture to be more upright)... how he uses the guitar to fire the shots and the cameraman getting shot and falling to the floor... an amazing storyteller. - The way he tells that history repeats itself on Violet's tale, from being abused by her father to the cycle repeating with her boyfriend that ends up killing her... the way he knocks on the door and then shows how he picks her eyelids and opens them and he's right there face first on the camera, out of focus... how he again uses the guitar to simbolize the sounds of violence when Stevie hits Violet, like a crashing pilot! - The way he rewinds time at the start of Violet's Tale when he says "We must rewind time for Violet's Tale" and then he makes the rewind time sound with the guitar and then starts Violet's story... then after Violet gets beaten up he uses the guitar again, this time to un-rewind time and gets us back to the start of the song when you heard the sounds of the hospital machines, now we know why those sounds were there and how everything happened... it's pure genius!!! - Also, it's inevitable to draw parallels between Jenny and Violet and Screech and Stevie (his father) and the grandfather... despite not knowing any of their relatives, Jenny was just like her mother, Violet was silent, didn't fight back when she was abused and ended up being killed... Jenny when confronted by Screech completely froze, like a statue, wasn't able to move, to say anything, to defend herself, just like her mother... Screech was violent and troubled and ended up a murderer just like his father... All very tragic!! - To tie it all up, the Tales from Jenny and Screech were recorded in 2019 and Violet's Tale is, because of that set in 2005 (two zero zero five), 14 years before because in Jenny's tale we are told that Screech was 14 years old! Cheers

I'm sure someone has already said it but the first two stories were inspired when Ren read a news article talking about the death of an underage prostitute and the subsequent shooting of the knife wielding 14 year old on the next street by a police officer. The Police Chief commented "So young, it's such a shame." Ren felt the need to expand on the story 2 years later with Violet's Tale.

Extraordinary reaction; emotional and intelligent analysis. Very well described. Ren is an incredible narrator and interpreter. The cycle of violence and abuse masterfully represented. Twins are born and die side by side. Tragic and poetic. You still have many surprises on this trip; some fun and others not so much, but always treated with good writing and irony. You will see that there are double meanings and metaphors in their different phrases and styles. You are doing well following the recommendations of the renegades...you can degrease with something lighter or continue in the heavy and deep line... It's hard for me to choose favorites, but to suggest a few:"Chalk Outlines","Money Game, Pt. 3","For Joe"... Thanks for your reaction, keep it up.

Violet passed away and their father would have probably been incarcerated, therefore they'd have gone to an orphanage and adopted separately!
