A natural born lazy bully, but a scaredy cat through and through. He's terrified of people finding out how he makes Rena do all the physical lifting and heavy caretaker's responsibilities while he literally helps with nothing, and is ab*sive towards her, because then he won't have a free carer if she listens to them and leaves. He fancies himself a good ole country gentleman and thinks he's fooled Dr Now and everyone, but no. I mean, what man ,when his truck overheats on the highway, has a tantrum at his wife for it happening as though she should have anticipated the problem and got the car sorted, and then again for the truck air conditioning not being adequate for him? Does he expect to have no tasks at all as a husband?

I can tell you what happened as the child of a morbidly obese father. Once he lost a little weight, Lee thought he had transformed into Fabio. No mirror would change that opinion. He also thought his options for women had expanded significantly. I'd bet he thought his next GF would be a 22 y.o. in nursing school or something like that. The delusional thinking I saw growing up is right in line with what I saw with Lee.

My favorite thing about Rena is that she has style. She tried to dress nice, even when she was feeling bad. I know she thinks she wasn’t trying, but her bare minimum was a lot. The reasons Rena is worse off than Lee is because she is 600 lbs and she is being run ragged. Remember she makes sure Lee is ok and by the time she needs to care for herself she is too tired to bother. Lee is an asshole. He was cool with the diet when she was still taking care of him. Now he is forced to care for himself and he is in “fuck it” mode. Also the food doesn’t soothe him the same way as it did. It comes up. It makes him hurt. He’s not getting that “massage” anymore, and he has nothing to do with that anger. Remember Rena said he would get very mean when he didn’t his food. So his violence isn’t new. You need to watch their follow up.

Unpopular opinion: Dr. Now was right to delay her surgery. She would have been at the total mercy of this psycho and she would not be able to defend herself at all. He was giving her time to make the decision to leave him before she was all cut up and unable to move. Dr. Now knows the therapist would have given Rena some education on DV and that it may give her the perspective to leave.

Could be. It’s a real issue for physicians. A mom or wife or other may come in for an appointment and say they aren’t sleeping or have abdominal pain, etc. and as the physician has their hand on the door knob at the end of the visit….then she says she is there because there is domestic violence at home. And that throws every next appointment off as the office scrambles to make sure they are safe or get them to a shelter, and the office gets a couple 1-star reviews from the next 2 patients of how awful and uncaring they are because the next couple appointments are delayed.

He was jealous of her and worried about her progressing and not HAVING to be there to take care of him anymore. The abuse (that’s been there all along just low level enough for her to not consider it abuse) is to beat her down emotionally, which escalates to physical, to either keep her with him and thinking she’s worthless, or to push her away so she will leave and he can say, “look how she abandoned me”. @Ilovepickles828 ай бұрын
Do u mean leave?
@mommy2libras7 ай бұрын
@@Ilovepickles82 no, they mean stay. Because she is going to stay, but not because she's kind. She stays because of the years of abuse and manipulation- that gets your mind in a place where "all this is normal" and you've been told no one else will want you, you can't make it on your own etc. You get beaten down mentally and leaving seems terrifying. You're used to the abuse and while it's scary while it's happening, it's not happening all the time and you make it through and it's over. But out there is the unknown- except that because you've been told you're worthless and no one else will love you and you have no support, you believe that at your very core. So you stay. But not because you're kind. Also, they'll tell you how much they've done for you, etc, and you have a feeling of obligation as well as the fact that you actually DO love them and believe they love you. One big hurdle is that for a long time, you separate the "two" versions of the person you're with- the one who says and does loving things and the one who is angry and abusive. You have to come to the point of realizing that even when they're being loving, they're still the person that abuses you and will continue to do so- there is no "other version". They're ALWAYS the person who beats you or humiliates you or emotionally abuses you, no matter what they're doing or saying. They could save a bunch of puppies and orphans from a burning building and that still doesn't make them a good person. And that they won't change. You'll never find the magic combination of things to say, things to do, behaviors, etc to keep them from abusing you again. And much of the time they're being nice is just manipulating you into staying so they can continue to do so.

When I was pregnant, I threw up every single day for 8 months. I was losing weight instead of gaining, and I asked my doctor if I should be worried, she said "Oh honey, we're american, we all have fat reserves"😂😂😂😂 Thanks Dr. Tucker. I had a good laugh at that one. P.s. my daughter is 7 month, and a very healthy girl.
@Itried20takennames Жыл бұрын
The doc was so right…..and yeah, that is what our fat is there for. And many people think from pop culture that they have to eat like crazy during pregnancy, and that it’s normal or even good to gain a large amount…it isn’t. You shouldn’t starve, but even small weight gains or even mild losses (if unavoidable) are typically fine. The ob I worked with would answer people who said “I am eating for 2,” by saying “but remember that one is the size of a Lima bean thru a grape fruit, and they don’t need much.”

I had the same problem with my pregnancy, but I truly had no fat reserves. I was pregnancy on a stick. I dreaded the sessions with the dietician because I could never come close to the required weight gain goal. My little peanut came into the world at less than 4 lbs. By some sick irony, I didn't start gaining weight until after the delivery. I came out of pregnancy with a very different body and was never skinny again.
@victoriadiesattheend.8478 Жыл бұрын
A doctor really shouldn't make jokes like that. When I was pregnant I actively wrestled with my ED every day. I literally researched how little I could eat a day while pregnant in order to make sure the baby got the appropriate nutrients but I wouldn't gain more than absolutely necessary. My son was 10 lbs, 2 oz,? 21 inches long. I only gained 21 pounds so that was half the weight gone that day. After the baby, placenta and extra water was out I started breast feeding. My son ate like a moose so he was killing me. It was, of all people, my ex husband who noticed how gaunt and gray and skinny I had become, and how fast. I was feeding my son one day sitting in bed and almost passed out. He forced me to go to the doctor who promptly put my son on formula and me on a short term high calorie diet. Of course I didn't go on the high calorie diet - I went back to my an0rexic eating habits. Being pregnant was very hard on me mentally as well. The only photos that even exist of me pregnant belong to my ex husband. There are two. I hated the way I looked and I would wear Spanx under my clothing, as my stomach & boobs were the only parts of me getting bigger. I hated my profile. I look back and feel sad that I never got those lovely professional pregnancy photos taken that people get nowadays. My son might have enjoyed those in the future. But I hated myself so much all I saw was embarrassment and failure when I looked at my body. My ED ruined a lot of the joy I could and should have taken in my pregnancy.

I used to work at General Motors Head office, in customer service, and I learned a trick that saved me once when my car started to overheat on a 95 degree day. Turn off the A/C, put on the heat full blast, open all the windows and vents, and the wind will cool the engine down. It will get hot inside at your feet, but it works great! You will at least be able to get to a service station, or get home if you're on the highway. I don't think it would work in city traffic, but on the highway you get a good wind going over the engine, and you'll see the temperature gauge go down.
