This movie was the first movie I saw alone in a theatre at the age of 36, and I’m so glad it was this one. I’m going through a lot of struggle in my life right now and trying to also find balance and stay committed to my career. I resonated so deeply with all of this, even with Beyoncé being so wealthy and multitalented. I’m so inspired by the way she spoke about aging and coming into her own renaissance. Very well done, only regret wasn’t making more of an effort to see her on tour, but I won’t miss the next one whenever that is!!!

This is what art is about. Beyoncé is a living legend, and has broken just about every barrier there is. For a while, she stayed confined behind societal and industry norms, but that has clearly changed. She’s fully embedded in her own art, expressing, honoring, and representing things that still aren’t as acceptable in modern society. Her impact will remain supreme for decades to come…may we never forget this legend.💛🖤

I don’t know if Beyonce ever stayed confined to societal and industry norms. She’s been a maverick since Destiny’s Child. On her debut solo album, her record company told her she didn’t have a single hit on it because the songs were not regular radio songs. She insisted that the album release just the way it was and the rest is history. Or rather HERstory. Even Destiny’s child songs were not like any other girl group songs.
