Recorded live at Brighton, Victoria, Australia during our concert The Etiquette of Dance, May 2023.
In this concert we performed medieval / High Renaissance, and Renaissance dances, accompanied with period instruments by the Early Music Consort of Melbourne.
Our Masters of Ceremony shared observations regarding the role and etiquette of dance in the life of the Renaissance courtier, as specified by dance masters of the Renaissance Da Piacenza, Ebreo, Arena, Arbeau, Caroso & Negri.
Based on the Orchésographie of Thoinot Arbeau, our version of La Volta in this concert was arranged by dancer Sarah Amos.
The Courtly Arts Performers of Victoria are an Australian performance group, comprising dancers formerly known as the Ripponlea Renaissance and Baroque dancers, and the Early Music Consort of Melbourne.
