I wanted to watch one a day of these fabulous videos, but I'm cheating and doubling up.. these are filled with information I did not know even though I have read ALL of your non-fiction books. Thanks again...

What's the best work on Nicolli?

Modesty obviously forbids me from mentioning my own book (but just for the record: “The Bookseller of Florence”). But you might want to look at Stephen Greenblatt’s “The Swerve,” in which Niccoli features. The biography of Niccoli by Vespasiano da Bisticci can be found in “The Vespasiano Memoirs”-hopefully you can get a copy somewhere. Most of what’s known about Niccoli comes from it. Another good resource is “Two Renaissance Book Hunters: The Letters of Poggius Bracciolini to Nicolaus de Niccolis,” translated by Phyllis Walter Goodhart. Good luck! He’s a fascinating character.
