I didn’t expect to be as emotional as I was watching this. This is my home faire and my mother was the woman from the shop fitting Kaza, getting to watch her do what she’s loves for almost 30 years beautifully filmed was very inspiring to me and emotional. I’ve been in school and away from this world I’ve grown up in and just getting to see how happy this world makes other people makes me overjoyed. Thank you Momo for sharing your trip and letting me feel like I was home for half an hour, I’m sure I’ll be watching this when I’m homesick. -signed the boothie who got way too excited seeing you 💚

Nothing wrong with loving medieval fantasy! I'm in my 30s and loved this stuff since my teens. I've been attending my local renfest (Texas renfest) for the past 20 years save for bad health or tight budget some years. It's tons of fun. Life is already hard and can be so serious so when it's Faire time you can momentarily forget your troubles and just have fun in a mini world where things are exciting and fantastical. 💖 If you still have that love for medieval fantasy don't deny yourself! Life is already too short not to do things we enjoy. 💖

So I used to be an actor at NYRF. Rehearsals actually go anywhere from 1-2 months prior to opening. (NJRF rehearses for a week for their principle cast.) Honestly having done the improv rehearsals for this show for 6 summers and having been a scripted kids show character I can say that this program does not always turn out the caliber that Momo interacted with. The pirate she spoke to is an amazing man named Joe. His daughter is one of the actors in the Robin Hood scenario. Joe is sadly lately the exception to the outcome of the improv workshops. I highly suggest going to the NJ Faire in Bordentown for a few reasons. The joust team is superior to the one now at NYRF since they're actually the team that used to be at NYRF. The actors are becoming more and more populated with former NYRF actors who did go through the older improv classes and therefor are just trained better. Since Renaissance Entertainment Productions changed CEOs the quality of care has drastically gone down at NYRF.

This is so similar to the Renaissance festival in Georgia, it's insane. It's like looking at an alternate version of the same performers, same buildings, same fences, etc.

YES, ABSOLUTELY! The jousting area, the entrance, the shops! It looks incredibly similar! Very "deja vu" for me watching this!

This was lovely, Momo. I miss Ren Faire now! I grew up working at Faires as an actor and vendor and this made me remember why. ❤️

I remember when I was little and I went to my first Renaissance Fair, and I sadly remember not enjoying it because i was little so I didn't really take an interest in it yet. I wish so so so much that i enjoyed it and made the best of my time because with the pandemic that's happening, all the large gatherings have been cancelled including the 2020 Renaissance Fair and I'm very disappointed about that. Though, one thing I *do* remember is that my dad bought me a bow, a quiver and a few arrows and I have managed to lose two of the five arrows he bought and break a chair. I would defiantly go back now if I could and properly enjoy the experience. Sorry if no one cares about this. i just wanted to share this, as i thought it was relevant... TwT

Having gone to the NYRF so many times throughout the late 80's and 90's (it's even where I met my wife!), I'm glad to see that not only is it still thriving, but has been made so much nicer. We still miss a lot of the older faire (and it had a lot less permanent buildings and more dirt paths), but thank you for bringing back some memories through your video! So glad you enjoyed it. :)

Hi first timer here at your channel and I just loved this video, watching you and your friends having a blast at the NY Ren faire. I have been going there since the early 90's with a few different groups of friends and I was always in a new elaborate costume each year. We were just there last week for the first time since the pandemic. You ladies are a lot of fun and you put a smile on my face. Your friend, The Azrai who derived her idea of beauty from the Gelflings in the Dark Crystal, I can relate to. I am not embarrassed to say that when the movie first came out I was in Jr. High and I thought that Gelflings were the most perfect looking people I had ever seen. Very Elf-like and beautiful. Looking forward to your other videos.

I love this so much! I was having a rough week and this made me laugh more than I have for a while. Ren fair time is my favorite time of the year! Last year I dressed as one of my story characters, a half human/half dragon. This year I'm planning on being a pirate of some sort. Good job Mo Mo! You are so inspiring! Love you!

It is such a load of posivite energy and vibes, it's like a remedy for me in these fucked up covid times. Sitting on home office for a year now, and videos like this keep me sane. You sing beautifully btw. Cheers from Poland.

@omega12314 жыл бұрын
@@paulchilders9969 You don't get what he's implying; nothing about this faire is realistic, it's all fantasy elements, like a fairytale faire. Not an actual representation of the renaissance nor the medieval era, in any part of the world. Not that i want to shit on it, do what you want, but it's a bit weird to call it a renaissance faire when it has nothing to do with the renaissance :)

I've been going to the Sterling Renfaire for 32 yearrs. It's a home away from home for me and a lot of my friends. It's so nice seeing first timers have the time of their lives! Glad you had a really great time and I hope it won't be your only renfaire. There's something really magical about that place; people get to be themselves, play, and joke around. It's a really incredible community. Glad you got to see Aaron Bonk. I was a little surprised to not see any Blue Boar footage even though you were right across the street from it. Also, Mystic's Way is my favorite tiny piece of that village. The entire structure (like, all the buildings for the whole faire) have stood for decades. The aforementioned Blue Boar used to have nice booth seating. But it eventually rotted away due to rain and snow over the years. Still my favorite bar of all time

The Ren Fest is SO FUN! It's such a positive, welcoming atmosphere where everyone is SO NICE. This looks exactly like the Maryland Renaissance Festival, which makes me wonder if they're owned by the same people, or if there's some company that designs/builds Ren Fests🤔

Been rewatching this video over and over every couple of days. It brings a real sense of home and peace to me, I've been going to Ren Faires since I was 3, and I wait all year to attend the local Midsummer Faire. But watching this video... it brings tears. Because I don't know when the next Faire will be held with the pandemic going on. I don't know if I'll ever get to go again since my numerous hospital visits show my health is just too much at risk. And I don't know if I'll get to see the Midsummer Faire again since my family and I are finally moving into emergency housing... which is across the state. It's painful to think about, but so wonderful to watch the video and remember all those beautiful memories over the years. Kinda tears my heart in half.
