As someone who has worked this faire for 26 years it is nice to see it from other peoples points of view. I work at the garland booth with the "mermaid with red hair"

We had a great time and remember your booth well. Hope you enjoyed the video. When putting a video together it is so difficult to chose what to use as we had so much that we could have had hours long to show. Thanks for watching.

I worked the Northern and Southern Ren Faires 1970-1973. I was a solo stage ballad singer. It was a lovely concept and it was a fund raiser for KPFA and KPFK. I had a chance to hone my skills, which were already darned strong. We made our own costumes except for the Royal Court. There was no shooting or jousting. No knife throwing. Lots of jugglers, acrobats. We were in Augora and Ventura. I flew down & back on the red eye for $10/each way. Once I took my vw bug from SF to LA and I stayed down a week to do a gig at Universal Studios .We had to develop accents appropriate to the period and stay in character all day-on and off stage. No amplification was allowed. You did a great video. You really captured most everything. Is Bruce Schwartz still working the Faire? He worked both for a lot of years as a teenager and then did a heck of a good show in showrooms..

That looks like a lot of fun! I wish I was there. Believe it or not, I once got drafted into performing in a Ren Faire. As a Certified Number Nerd, I was a volunteer Treasurer for a little 3-woman theater company. They specialized in children's theater, traveling from school to school. But they made their real money, the money that supported the children's theater that they loved, by performing at a Renaissance Faire every summer. One year, one of the three was ill and couldn't perform. Since I kind of knew the material, I was drafted to fill in. And that's how I became a member of The Naughty Bawdy Wenches. Our routine was that we were three dimwitted wenches who got swindled out of the grocery money when we went to town for supplies. So, we roamed around in the audience, looking for people who could give us things from our grocery list. My big moment was when I would sit down on an older man's lap. One of the other wenches would ask, "Does he have a sausage?", and I'd answer, "Oh, YES, he HAS a SAUSAGE!!!"

Eye so Ye R a Naughty Bawdy Wench ....I knew you had it in you....LOL. Love that story. An awesome memory you will always have. It was a good time until it got so crowded you could hardly move then it was time to move on. Best early in the morning. Thanks for watching and a special thanks for the wonderful story as well.

It was an interesting faire and a lot of things that you just don't see everyday. The most fun is the amount of people that participate by dressing and acting the part. Thanks so much for watching.

I've been to many fairs and I originate from this one and for sure it's the most expensive and sometimes disagreeable. But still fun. Others thruout the country can be better.

We love that Renaissance fair and always enjoy going. It may be a little expensive but still fun. We would love to see others in different parts of the country someday. Thanks for watching.

Great video! I'm planning on going here soon. What day and time were you there? It doesn't look crowded at all which is what I'd prefer.
@CRJourney202 жыл бұрын
We went early on a Saturday and could have enjoyed anything. We chose to spend too much time on some things and then next thing you know the place was packed. About 1pm it became way overcrowded so I would suggest go when it opens. Have lunch by 11am and you will have a better time. Thanks for watching.

What a waste of time we spent 90 minutes in traffic line, which was probably 2 miles long at least, we never got in decided to leave after almost 2 hours in line, they really need to have buses are trams, and or change the venue. The apparently just don’t give a damn about all the people just waiting in line. We left, probably will never return again.
