Mass spectrometry is the gold standard in amyloid TYPING, u work on a sample already Congo red positive . The problem it isn’t available everywhere, I think two centers worldwide.

Where can we find it? Isnot it in egypt? Is kappa and lambda stain not enough and we don'ot need for bone marrow biopsy?

Not available in Egypt It can detect any type of amyloidosis If immunehistochemistry is positive for K and L , it is enough to diagnose AL amyloidosis
