I’m 29. First stone at 25 i had no idea what it was, I was single at the time and had nobody to assist me. Honestly thought maybe my appendix burst. I guess I had a 4mm stone (mine are super jagged sharp and go in all directions) I cried. I was scared. It sucked. Docs said I had a couple more. But I was no longer in pain once it passed and that’s all I cared about. Well here we are 4 years later. DUN DUN DUN. Last month 3mm by 6mm came out pain lasted 1-3 hours not too bad. And now… as I’m typing this I have been going on 3 weeks now of non stop every few minutes or hours stone pain in my groin and inner thigh and all over. All I can think is those old stones are wanting to come down but are struggling bad. (I have 3 in left kidney largest is 3mm and 1 in right kidney smaller than 1mm) to my fellow humans I am so sorry if your hurting reading this. I am right there with you. All I can suggest is at night take 1-2 Tylenol PM drink 2 glasses of water and remember it’s temporary. To those experiencing it alone, we are all here! And in 1 month you’ll be back to normal! Take care y’all. And take of ourselves!

Thanks for this post. I just found out I have one last Saturday (first one ever and hopefully last). 5mm in my right Kidney. I would rather have full blown Covid 19 (original strain, which I did have 2 years ago, lasted 2 weeks and was miserable) than have what I have now. I have been drinking 2000ml of water a day mixing some of it with 1/2 cup of lemon juice to help break it up. Started eating some oranges as well. This is the most painful thing I have ever had.

Did you ever have pain after you passed a stone? I passed my first today at 46, they said it was 4mm but its actually thorn shaped and 7mm from tip to tip (its triangular) and scratched me on the way out, now it hurts like I am sliced up a little inside. Ever have anything similar? Not a lot of info or videos about after damage. Thanks for sharing!

I’ve passed over 55 stones since 1991 and have gotten such conflicting information over the years from 7 different urologists. First it was no dairy foods. Then a year later, eat yogurt, cheese and all dairy products. Have had multiple lithotripsy and cystoscopies. All stones have been calcium oxalate. Last stone I passed in the hospital was 9 mm. Then the hospital discharged me and within a day I developed sepsis and it was dicey for a week at another hospital. Take care of yourself and don’t fool around with kidney stones. Straight & simple talk here. I'd get up to 4 very large (oxalate) kidney stones a year. I've had NONE for 7 years now. I use something called 'Stone Breaker' tablets I get from Walmart. Active ingredient is something called Chanca Piedra & there are other brands available. Dosage is recommended 3 tablets a day (about 25 cents each) but I find that one a day works for me. If I feel back pain like from a pending stone I simply go to two tabs a day for a while & never had a problem.

Having had a large kidney stone about 5 years ago I can agree with most of what is stated here, but also disagree with some as well. I received ultrasound treatment on my kidney stone as it was determined that it was too large to pass (after an x-ray scan), at that point I'd just been managing the pain with large doses of pain killers for about a month. The ultrasound roughly smashed the stone in half (pulverising half of it, which I passed later that day), half remained and slowly worked it's way down. This followed an approximate cycle of every two weeks I would have to manage the pain for 2 or 3 days. This continued for the next 4 months (so I wish it had only taken 40 days!) until I finally passed the stone in approximately 30 seconds of the second worst physical pain I have ever felt (the top spot on that list was the first day the stone left the kidney). Ironically, this was only a few days before I was scheduled for a second session of ultrasound treatment (which they should have given me much earlier, but no-one was aware that I'd only had one). One of the comments in the video I feel I would disagree with is the drinking of lots of fluids while trying to pass a stone. It's certainly good advice if the stone is small, but it can cause increased pain, pressure and complications if the stone is large and obstructing the ureter almost completely (depending on shape). So that advice I would say is on a case by case basis. In my particular case, the remainder of the stone was an irregular shape which made it painful when it moved, but it didn't seem to obstruct the flow of urine to the bladder significantly. Finally I would just like to express my sympathies to anyone who has to go through this - I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy ;-)

I’ve been through 2 stones 4 and 5 mm and my last cat scan revealed 6 more in my kidneys ranging from 3-5 mm in size. I met a nurse in the hospital from a stone visit and she said she would have rather birthed all 3 of her kids back to back naturally than have to go through another kidney stone. A little perspective for those that haven’t endured it. Crystal light lemonade has potassium citrate in it which helps prevent the formation of calcium oxalate stones and limiting the oxalates you eat helps. I also tried olive oil and lemon juice mix (look it up) whilst trying to pass a painful stone. They suck period. Lately I get those tell tale pains every so often but it seems they are small enough to pass without as much fuss. I too had pain in my testicles and was like wtf 😳 so I was glad (?) to learn it was referred pain from a stone. To anyone that gets them: oh boy do I feel your pain. No one can ever understand it until they’ve felt it. The ER is in no hurry to help get you out of pain either, though one doc did right away and others don’t gaf

@@Laswm4950 the problem is the meds they give wear off and if they don’t send you home with any scripts it may get worse again. I’d suggest trying the lime juice with olive oil, it might not be fun to drink but it may help smooth things out so it can pass. It’s absolutely ridiculous how the ER treats the issue and it’s all dependent of what staff you get. One time they gave me nothing except Toradol aka ketorolac and another time a PA gave me dilaudid in the IV and sent me home after a CT scan with a script for the pill form. I currently have a 10mm stone and the pain is non-existent because it's stuck and I only feel cramping in the flank when I exercise.

Only on the last time did the ER Doctor figure it was the same stone slowly sliding down the tube from the Kidney to the Bladder. The next day a camera, laser and basket was shoved in and located, blasted and grabbed. The first urination was like shooting sand from a shotgun. It's been 7 years and I've been pain free, stone free.

Had several Uric acid stones maybe 6 or so. After having those I tolerate pain a lot more by comparing what's happening at the time to a full blown kidney stone episode. Felt like someone had stabbed you and twist the knife. My greatest fear was when urinating I would hear the stone hit the toilet bowl. And it would ricochet up and hit me in the eye!! One other thing not mentioned is that if the stone tears up the ureter and you bleed a lot,. Blood clots can be a problem in the bladder. Requiring catheterization to empty your bladder

My 6mm stone caused pain so severe for many hours that on a scale of 1 to 10, it was about a 20. Not kidding. I cannot imagine suffering a pain any worse and still be alive or conscious. There were other symptoms that were extreme and equally intolerable. At the ER, after taking several hours to image it before diagnosis, they finally gave me morphine which achieved absolutely nothing in terms of pain relief. At last they administered delaudid, which does provide temporary pain relief.

The ONLY relief I felt during this 3 yr episode was 4mg of Dilaudid. That was 15 years ago. Lessons Learned: HYDRATE, NUTRITION, Exercise - Go Figure. I lost 45 pounds after that episode. My urologist said stones can take months to over a year to pass. It took me 9 months to pass a 9mm stone. Yes, I DID pass it. Mine are calcium oxalate stones. Phosfood liquid helps break down stones. It is a phosphorus rich liquid sold in many natural health stores, and it actually eats and erodes stones. A chiropractor gave Mr a bottle to try, and it works. I have stones on a regular basis, stones do not hurt as much anymore now that the ureter has been stretched on my left side.

What do you mean by it took 9 months to pass? So it happened gradually for one stone or pain was on or off? What
@mikeryman76 Жыл бұрын
Yes it was one stone, and took that long to pass. I get stones every other year, and my urologist told me people can go well over a year before a stone passes. This one was my worst. It took 9 months for it to travel from my kidney to my bladder. Yes it hurt badly, but it was temporary. Pain would hit, and I felt muscle spasms trying to force it downward, then pain would stop. It would hit me 4 or 5 times a day, then stop. My kidney was shut off literally for 9 months, then one day the pain hit again and I felt it shoot into my bladder. It came out within a few hours. The stone was the size of a large pea, (9mm) and somewhat egg shaped. I have bad nerve damage in my spine, and have lived with it all my life without meds, stones are no different to me.

Just to add on, and this is in relation to Ayurveda, I would recommend to study, research and gather more evidence on the Ayurveda side of things, because few months back, September to be precise I was diagnosed with 3 Kidney Stones (Two 7-9mm and One 5-6mm). Allopathy couldn't help as all they had as a suggestion was surgery. After researching on the internet I went to an Ayurvedic physician and took the medication for 3 months (and continuing) and I have passed all these kidney stones. Though I still get occasional minor pain assuming their are still fragments left or being newly formed but the result has been magnificent. So, just another topic for you to research more and add another feather in your cap of helping the humanity. God Bless you and thank you for all you do for the health of humanity.

I had Medullary Sponge Kidney with type 2 Renal Tubular Acidosis and passed many kidney stones in my life, starting at the age of 19. They are definitely not fun. I went through 6 rounds of lithotripsy in a span of 25 years for the ones I couldn’t pass. On average, I would pass 2-3 stones every 4-6 months. I finally developed renal failure and was on dialysis for 2 years, but luckily I got a kidney transplant. Because my native kidneys were so heavily calcified and posed a risk for future stones, my transplant surgeon removed both of them. I hope that I will never have another kidney stone for as long as I live. Because of the many kidney stones, stents placed, catheters, and other procedures I developed an urethral stricture in the bulbous urethra. What is your take on the different treatments for this? Not really looking forward to having surgery on that part of my body, but it seems to be worsening and something will have to be done about it. Urologists have never tested stones , don't seem to have a clue why they are forming.. and after I was in A&E for pain relief (injected) as I couldn't keep anything down , as I was being sick...even on a empty stomach , I was referred to a urologist again , have waited over two years and still not heard anything from them... this is the UK (England) I have a couple of questions .. if you could answer.. 1) Can constant tearing from sharp jagged stones cause scar tissue to build up and restrict flow of urine and stones ? 2) Can drinking lemon juice help break up or dissolve stones ? I have lost any faith I had in the UK's NHS for many reasons , which I won't go into here... Thanks again , Rena , for making such interesting videos...

I had kidney stone first time that stayed in my kidney for maybe 1 or 2 years that slowly dissolve. Was at 9mm and maybe got down to 7mm and finally bothered me with bad pain and got surgery to removed it. Later on got a second kidney stone and naturally got out by peeing and the pain was not bad but kinda hurts. Drinking cranberry juice early in the morning and as well constantly drinking water with lemon through out the day and evening and at night drinking cranberry juice helps breaking down. The kidney stone. I guess took about 1 week or 2 weeks of drinking cranberry juice helps push out the kidney stone. But maybe different for others. So try drinking cranberry everyday and water as well. Hope this helps.

Doctor Malik, I drink a lot of Buko, Buko is Filipino for Coconut water. It is wonderful for the kidneys and Urological system of the Human Body. What do you think?

Have been meaning to ask for a video on this. Long history of them, since 1989. Had a rash of them earlier this year. It was getting ridiculous - passed about eight 2mm ones. Have passed several in the 4 to 6 mm range over the years. Had a 10mm in 2017, and surgery with the laser to blast it apart. Most guys, including me, are not crazy about having catheters stuck up through, and later pulled back out through their penis. I'm even less crazy about a laser going off in my kidney - but, whatcha gonna do with a 10mm? Mine are calcium oxalate. I think the ones this year were triggered from eating a lot of spinach and almonds etc. Did not realize they were high in oxalates til I saw it elsewhere. Geez, EVERYTHING you put in your body must be monitored it seems. It might be BOTH good and bad for you. I stopped drinking local water years ago - it is notoriously hard and full of minerals. Now I wonder if plastics from bottled water might not contribute to stones. And now I'm a little confused about acidity. After the surgery my urologist advised drinking lemonade - said the citrates helped keep stones from forming. Well, most store bought lemonade has huge sugar content. Don't want that, so I starting making up bottles of water with half a lemon worth of juice in it. No sugar. Now I wonder if that was too acidic. Now my strategy is to buy kits and monitor PH. This is typical of my decades of stones - conflicting or confusing information. Since 1989, I have literally passed dozens of stones. Some involved horrendous pain and some, like the most recent ones, I didn't even know about until they came out. A small one can cause a momentary burning sensation when it passes out of the penis. It always make me look in the toilet/urinal etc. Is that what I think it was? Yup, a little dark stone laying in the bottom.

Always used squeezed lemon , no sugar there as you say and a hell of a lot more effective than lemonade, yes you could be sensitive to the acidity.....but its definitely effective. Also cider apple vinegar and chanca piedra worth a shot. I've had to check on certain foodstuffs and nuts definitely my downfall! Also surprisingly the humble radish is a problem. Got to check everything to be sure, but what does surprise me is no mention on many of these threads re cheese

@@MrPhilfridge hey i have tried chanca piedra but it didnt work, so do you know a chanca piedra protocol to pass kidney stones?
@MrPhilfridge Жыл бұрын
@@yfdz6959 As i said i used it as a part of a comibination, of pure lemon juice , cider vinegar and chanca piedra . I personally have never been entirely convinced by the chanca piedra and certainly on its own i think all it does is probably keep the stones at the same size rather than actively reduce them. When i was using the combo, i would take 3 chanca piedra capsules a day with meals. Imho its the lemon juice that really does it, but you need to drink it neat first thing in the morning and the throughout the day mixed in with water . You can add the cider vinegar in with that, but it tastes pretty foul ! The lemon juice might make your stomach a bit iffy , but that would depend on your tolerance to acidic food . Took three weeks. Hope that helps

Hey Doc. I had a kidney stone when I was 27 and it was very painful. I remember passing out from the pain itself and when I woke up I still had a terrible pain until it passed. About 5 years ago I did another image and they discovered 2 more stones about 2 mm big. After this a friend of mine that had them before recommended drinking apple cider vinegar or taking capsules of that and so I did and about a year ago I did another image and they saw no stones at all. My question is do you think the apple cider vinegar helped on this?

Passed it, during a rowdy night in the sheets. You remember and thought holy hell that was top shelf. No blood but odd load. Urethra expanded due to length of in the zone play and force of togetherness and focus on “other things” helped to distract. Like HHill narrow U and LadyBird watching the door for little Robert Edward Hill to get made.

Drink 1 cup lemon juice every morning, then keep drinking lots of water with lemon and apple cider vinegar mixed in, throughout the day. This will dissolve it enough so it can pass on its own.
